We are Permaculture!

Tantai Farm adhered by the Ethics and Principles ofPermaculture where our activities care for the Earth,care for people, and share of our surplus.

Our Farm

• We are located 2 hours nearBangkok, and 30 minutes from theKhao Yai National Park.

• Tantai Farm is 11 Rai (1.7Ha) 3 ofwhich are for living and commonareas. The rest are dedicated toAgriculture and Education.

• Maintain by 3 farmers on site withthe help of Thai and Foreignvolunteers.

Natural Ways Of Farming

• Tantai Farm is moving toward no-till farming method.Currently, minimal tilting of the soil is done in some area.

• Crop is divided into layers where bigger plants provideshade for smaller plants. Avocado trees shade Mulberrytrees and Banana trees provide moisture for Papaya orLime trees, for example.

• Use Mulching from leaves and cut grass to protect andkeep the moisture in the soil.

• To save energy, irrigation is kept to a minimal.

Sustainable Farming

• All farm material are recycle 100%. As of today,Cow manure and hay are brought from outside,due to small amount of Chicken manure.

• Compost are made from material around thefarm such as leaves, branch cropping, manure,and microbes.

• Household trash and farm wastes are separated• Used in compost in Chicken to raise insects&worms

• Composting for plants

• Mulching on trees

A Humane Way To Produce Chicken EggsOur Hens are raise free range with the area of about 6SQM per Hens. The Hens are free to scratch and peck inthe area which we also grow Lime trees, Passion fruit,and Gac fruit trees.

The Hens also help controlled the insects population onthe ground and on the plants and help produces betteryield fruits. We have a total of 150 Hens, which give usEggs daily and sell the surplus to the consumers.

Chickens Eat Probiotic-Rich Foods For Healthier Digestion• Healthier Hens mean healthier Eggs, which we

eat and become healthier!

• Our Hens eat probiotic rich food such asfermented Corn, and Banana, which are boostwith good microbes that help its intestine betterdigest food and prevent sickness.

• Study have found that Free Range Eggscontained less Cholesterol, less saturated fat,more vitamin A&E and Omega-3 fatty acids.

Cherry Tomatoes, The Organic Way

• Our Cherry Tomatoes are grownin greenhouse to limit itsexposure from insects.

• Only Compost and bio-fertilizersare used on these plants.

• Insects and disease are farthercontrolled through biologicalmean such as Trichoderma.

Our Food Forest

• Although, we are new toPermacuture, we understandthe important of creating a foodforest for our future.

• Our food forest are consisting ofMango, Avocado, Banana,Papaya, and various type ofBeans and Peas.

• And also Mulberry and CherryThai.

Saving Seeds For Future Use And Trade

• Tantai Farm is making seeds saving acommon practice. Any of theHeirloom seeds are kept for the nextgeneration of produces.

• We also occasionally trade seeds withother Permaculture communities.

Volunteers

Tantai Farm encourage our young generations to learn where our food comes from. Our volunteers learn Permaculture, life on a farm, growing plants, and soil preparation among other farm tasks and skills necessities as living and sharing life in a small community.

What Else’s Are We Working On?

• Early stage: Organic produces such as Tomatoes, Mulberry, Papaya, Banana, Gac and Passion Fruits, etc…

• Future Plan:• Become a sustainable farming community where Thai and foreign farmers can

learn Natural Farming methods and Permaculture
