Where I’m From
• I was born in 1991• For the first eight years of my
life I lived in the cold, windy city of Winnipeg, Manitoba.
•Since then I’ve spent most of my life living with my family in several cities in Southern Ontario
•I studied at the University of Guelph for the first year of my Bachelor’s degree in International Development.
My Student Life• In the fall of 2010 I moved to the beautiful
city of Montreal to continue my Bachelor’s degree at Concordia University.
• I’m currently studying Political Science as a major, and minoring in Professional Writing.
• My student experience at Concordia has been incredible and I have found several ways to be involved on campus, including Zeta Tau Omega Sorority, where I hold the Public Relations position.
Social Media Experience
• I am the Social Media Intern for Concordia’s chapter of Journalists for Human Rights (jhr).
• I co-manage the @jhrConU Twitter and Facebook accounts with the Social Media team.
• We provide followers with engaging updates related to social justice & human rights issues.
• We promote the jhr blog and our Speak 4 Rights guest speaker series.
• Our stories and radio shows consistently make it to #1 of news site rabble.ca’s Top Picks list.
Writing ExperienceWinter 2011:
• I began contributing to the website “This Dish Is Veg”, focused on animal rights, environmentalism, veganism/vegetarianism.
• I researched and wrote about various news stories, restaurant reviews, and opinion pieces.
• My contributions can be viewed here
Summer 2011:• I worked as the copywriting intern for a small media company located in downtown Montreal, Czar Media.• I collaborated with the staff on web based projects and created and edited text for corporate marketing packages and assisted in research.
