MY TARGET AUDIENCE

Gender & AgeI will be targeting both males and females at the ages of 15 – 25. I have chosen this age range because they are likely to be

interested in the Thriller genre and will be able to relate to the characters because

they will be of a similar age. Interests &

HobbiesThe audience I am

targeting are likely to be full time students (in school, Sixth Form or UNI) or working in an apprenticeship or first job. Because of this,

they will not have much spare time but when

they do they will probably spend it with

their friends, socialising.

They will also enjoy music, TV shows and

popular brands such as New Look, H&M, River Island, Top Shop/Man,.

Socio-EconomicsSocio-economic group is the

class people fall into as result of their education and earnings.

I will be targeting people in the groups E, D and C2. This is

because most students will fall into this category because they

will not be earning much – if any – money because they are most likely going to be in their first

jobs or unemployed.

Psychographic GroupBecause I am targeting young people, they are more likely to

be involved in new technologies and products. They will be an

Explorer, an Aspirer and a Mainstreamer.

I have chosen these groups of people because I want to target

young people who are active audiences who seek their own

forms of media and that challenge the hypodermic needle

theory.

GeographicThe audience will live in the UK because this is where the opening

sequence will be filmed. The characters will also be British, so

audience members may find it easier to

relate to these. I am also going to

target young adults aged 15 – 25 in the

USA also because they will also enjoy this

medial text due to the genre.
