Target Audience Profile (THE CHROMATIC) The audience for my music magazine is aimed at predominantly males who are in the age bracket of 17-28. The audience will range from students doing A-level or still studying to those who are junior professionals working full time. ABC1, they will be well educated and have achieved well in their studies. Some of the audience will be single while others might be in a casual relationship. WHAT IS THE PERSONALITY OF THE READERSHIP LIKE? The audience enjoy their sports mainly football and rugby and many enjoy watching action, thriller and action and adventures films such as: Iron Man and The A team. He enjoys spending time going out with friends or playing on his game console, and if he has a girlfriend, he spends time with her. The genre of music that the target audience enjoy is indie rock as they listen to bands such as: Blur, Coldplay, Oasis and R.E.M. Occuactionally he will go with mates to see their favourite band or artist at a gig after watching these gigs, he and his friends could set up their own band and he could play the bass guitar. Technology-savvy, the target audience will often be found on-line, either on their laptop or using their smart-phones, which they love. They always use the Internet to shop and to stay in touch with their friends and family via Facebook or Twitter. They are forever updating their status or tweets. The audience use and enjoy other media texts. They read NME, play games on a Playstation or XBOX, listening to music on an Iphone or IPod and use a range of gadgets. The reader of the magazine believes... . and with some nights busy with work or homework, he’s spend hours after hours completing all the work so he is free hopefully the next night. If he is free from no work or homework then he can relax at home and watch crime dramas like ‘CSI’, ‘NCIS’ and any football matches that maybe on. Music is his second passion. But he listens to music everyday going to work and on the way home, he performs most tasks at work to music, he listens to bands playing as long as they are good, of course. Bands like Kasabian and the likes of Kaiser Chiefs are on his iPod, as he loves the deep bass and the solos that are played by his favourite instrument and the way that the bass... At the same time, he does love the less noisy and less bass-inspired artists or bands like Damien Rice, The Script and The Ting Tings, it not only that they are less noisy it’s the confidence and success that they have had, which he admires. He also likes listening to classic brit- pop, indie bands like Blur and Oasis.
