WHY DO I NEED TO COOL MY LAPTOP?
Laptops have air vents at the bottom and on the sides or back. These air vents need to breathe at all times, or else the computer will overheat. In general, the more powerful a laptop is, the hotter it will run. Using demanding programs, like a DVD player or video editing software, will also increase the temperature.
Overheated components (CPU, hard drive, and RAM) can fail and wear out much faster than compo-nents kept at normal temperatures. If a laptop’s core temperature rises too high, a safety feature shuts it down to prevent permanent damage. For optimal performance of your laptop, keep the temperature in check.
