Unit 57: Photography and Photographic PractiseProject Proposal

(P2, P3, M2, M3, D2, D3)

Candidate name: Theme: Music Magazine Portrait Photo Shoot

Predicted final outcome

I will make ten final images to go on a music magazine, I have chosen a mix between a normal magazine and a house/Dj sort of magazine because I know someone who is a Dj and I like the sort of music Djs play and I will get the images, then I will edit them so they look professional. Then I will review on my final edits and get an audience feedback to relate to my own thoughts on the images.

Reasons for selection of theme (including inspiration from the work of others)

This First Image shows four guys on a stage they are Djs and I’d like to get the black and white effect on my images because it makes it look better than the original. The photographer’s name is Shane McCauley and I’d like to do the same to my images by capturing the Dj.

Then there is this images, it shows a musician on a stage looking at the crowd, I’d like to get the same aspect by the person who is in shoot I’d like them to have a crowd behind them. The Photographer is Andy Barron, he capture well because it shows the full audience making the image seem small but yet so big.

The photo imaging equipment and medium that will be used and why

I will use the canon 7D provided by college due to I do not own a camera for myself; The specs for the camera are on this webpage. http://www.cnet.com/products/canon-eos-7d/specs/The reason why I’d use this camera is because it is very good using certain features that it has making the photos that’ll I will take will look professional.

Techniques that will be used and how they will help convey the visual message

For this shoot, I’ll use Depth of field because it will look good when I put together because I’m taking an image of the Dj and I only want the face visible in the shot, then there is the iso, I’ll keep it not too high or not low around about 800 will do just because the iso will make the image look bad if It isn’t set right with the depth of field and the aperture. I’ll take a couple of the same photos to make sure I don’t miss any out and have a selection to choose from if I have a couple of good ones.

I’ll be travelling a couple minutes down the road where I live because someone that I know Djs which is a good thing so therefore I can use him to get my Photos which is a good thing because it will only take me a couple of hours which enough time for me to get more than 50 photos for the project.

Then we have the final image, It shows the station of a Dj, it was taken by Khadija Bhuiyan the reason I’d like to get a similar image is because the lights on Dj decks go well with the lightning when taken picture of someone and I’d like to add this when I take my photos.
