The Mahwah Regional Chamber of
Commerce’s 25th Anniversary Golf
Outing held at member venue the Ram-
sey Golf and Country Club on Monday,
September 19, 2016 was another record
setting success on many levels. The
weather was ominous with drenching
rain through the early morning. This
did not dampen the spirit of our 100
plus golfers who played on the 18-hole
course excited by the chances to win
great prizes sprinkled throughout the
holes. A few would be golfers learned
the sport for the first time, and an army
of volunteers made sure the day went
smoothly. Cocktail hour was held at
The Abbey followed by dinner in the
Grand Ballroom.
The participants came to celebrate
Rick Taylor, CEO, Konica Minolta
Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., as he
received MRCC’s 2016 Humanitarian
of the Year Award. All attendees were
rewarded with a fabulous day of out-
door activities followed by an unforget-
table evening program, exciting prizes,
awards, and dinner.
The 2016 MRCC Golf Committee
began planning this event early in the
year, and with the support of Rick Tay-
lor's extensive network, the MRCC
Board of Directors and growing mem-
bership the Golf Outing was a resound-
ing success.
Konica Minolta Business Solutions
U.S.A kicked off the fund raising by
committing to be the Event Sponsor.

• Intac Actuarial Services is proud to an-nounce its CEFEX certification renewal of theprestigious Service Provider Excellence in Stan-dards of Practice for Retirement Plan ServiceProviders. CEFEX (Centre for Fiduciary Excel-lence), provides an independent recognition of afirm’s conformity to a defined Standard of Prac-tice. The CEFEX designation implies that a firmcan demonstrate adherence to the industry's bestpractices, as set forth by the American Society ofPension Professionals & Actuaries (ASPPA), andis positioned to earn the public's trust.
The ASPPA Standard of Practice describes howa third party administration (TPA)/actuarial firmcan assist plan sponsors in fulfilling their fiduciaryobligations. The Standard includes best practicesfor organization, human resources, operations, planning, systems, and disclosure, as defined by across-industry task force and is modeled after the“Prudent Practices for Investment Stewards” pub-lished by fi360, Inc. The rigorous certificationprocess, which involves a comprehensive assess-ment of the firm’s operational data, practices andprocedures, concludes in a full-day, on-site en-gagement of interviews with INTAC’s key em-ployees by a CEFEX representative.
• Bergen Health & Life is Now Bergen Maga-zine! Wainscot Media, a long-time member ofthe Mahwah Chamber of Commerce, made somedramatic upgrades to its flagship magazine,Bergen Health & Life, in September. Most signif-icant was a name change to Bergen, which betterreflects what the publication is – a sophisticated, local lifestyle magazine delivering compellingstories on everything from food to fashion, per-sonalities and events, interior design and real es-tate and, yes, health and wellness.
What’s more, the magazine was completely re-designed, creating a whole new look and feelwhile incorporating much more local photographyof people, places and things in and around BergenCounty. “It was exciting to see the ‘first’ issue ofBergen hot off the press,” said Publisher TomFlannery. “And the reaction from readers and ad-vertisers alike was exactly what we hoped. We’relooking forward to challenging ourselves to pro-duce exciting issues every month in the yearahead.”
September’s issue featured a special advertisingsection called “Faces of Bergen” where participantswere photographed in dynamic black-and -white.“The section attracted close to 60 companies, which was significantly more than we expected,”said Flannery. Overall, September Bergen gener-ated more ad revenue and had a higher page count(230) than any previous issue of Bergen Health &Life.
In December, Bergen introduces a special ad sec-tion called “Anniversary Profiles.” Any local busi-ness can participate and celebrate their own history. The magazine offers a photo shoot, copywritingservices and design as part of the ad package.

My name is Toni Livakovic and I am a Mahwah resident that attends Bergen
County Academies in Hackensack, New Jersey. As a senior in the Academy
for Business and Finance, I have often turned towards my classes and ex-
tracurricular competitions such as DECA to pursue a
greater education in business. Meanwhile, activities
such as running my own charitable school club (Soc-
cer for Hope Club) and volunteering outside of school
have allowed me to give back to the community. My
internship at the Mahwah Regional Chamber of Com-
merce has given me the opportunity to grow in both
my academic aspirations as well as community en-
gagement. I am able to expand my all-round business
knowledge through gaining insight of how business
are run while having the privilege of contributing to
the Chamber's mission of improving economic pros-
perity in the greater Mahwah region.

Financial Services. Champions "Fore" Children Sponsor: Inserra Supermarkets.
We extend a special thanks to all of the sponsors at all levels that, through their
generosity, helped MRCC raise a record amount of revenues on both the topline
and bottom-line. Our generous sponsors on all levels are a key factor in mak-
ing this event so successful. We encourage you to support their businesses as
they support the community. This Outing is the largest fundraiser for The
Chamber and a minimum of 25% of the net proceeds will be donated to a Char-
ity of the Honoree’s choosing. Rick Taylor chose Tackle Kids Cancer as the
501c3 to receive the charitable contribution from this effort. Tackle Kids Can-
cer benefits the essential clinical care, unique support services and ground-
breaking cancer research needed to find a cure. We encourage you to join us
when we present the check to Rick Taylor and Tackle Kids Cancer at MRCC’s
Holiday Luncheon on December 9, 2016. “I am proud to be leading the Golf
Committee and providing the resources for The Mahwah Regional Chamber of
Commerce to serve our business community and to be part of an organization
that through collaborative fund raising efforts is able to support the broader
community in such a meaningful way,” said Deborah A. Richin, CFP®, VP-
Golf Outing.
There is no resting on laurels at this dynamic business organization, as plans
for the 2017 Annual Golf Outing will soon be underway. If you know a philan-
thropic business leader that you feel should be considered for the MRCC 2017
Humanitarian of the Year award we welcome your suggestions.
