The State Individual Income Tax
Return includes the “Arts Council Fund”
as one of the charitable causes allowing
taxpayers a way to support the arts.
The Arts Council Fund is a voluntary tax-deductible chari-table contribution option on the annual State tax return.
Contributions come to the California Arts Council for arts programs for children and communities. Funding is not spent
on California Arts Council administration or overhead.

Who can contribute?Anyone who
uses Franchise Tax Board Forms 540, 540A or 540EZ
files electronically or by mail
does their own taxes or uses a professional tax preparer
calculates by hand or uses commercial tax preparation software
is owed a refund or owes tax
How to contribute?In the Contributions Section
designate any amount to “Arts Council Fund”

$1 taxpayer donation = $15 million for the arts to children and communities.
