A nuestra portada llega Cartagena.

A Strange as it may seems, 2009 iscoming to its end. Everybody thinksthat this year has been a litlle bit longer than normal. The good think isthat, however, 2010 is about to start. From Taxi Magazine, we face the next twelve months in a very special way.

We have felt the confidence of ouradvertisers in the last eleven issues, aswell as the fidelity of our readers and thecommitment of the taxi drivers. That isthe reason why we want to thank you alland wish you a Merry Christmas and aNew Year 2010 full of success and rene-wed hopes. Taxi Magazine will arrive toits mensual appointment in the taxis, faithful as always.

In the last issue of the year, we thinkthat the best idea is to have a look tothe shop windows, just in case there issome present you have not decided yet. The ideas go from video games, tobooks, as well as technology, beaty, travels or gourmet products. In addi-tion, we also review the best spectaclesfor the Holidays in Madrid's board.

Some of the plays will even have a per-formance in the New Year's Eve.Cartagena, a village who lives face tothe sea, arrives to our cover; a villageseverely marked by history, opened asan special destination in the wintertime.

We want to recomend you, once again,to use the taxi for your Christmas journeys to get to your destination inthe city.Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

Maite gets into a mess and involves everybody in it. Cristina is cold and intelligent but she is tired. Tired of her hus-band Alberto, who speaks a lot but hedoesn't make it very often . However, therule is not right for anybody but Cristina.Alberto wants to be like his friend Martinthat who is always making it. The excess and the lack of sex in the sentimental relationships is the key ofSexes. This play has turned into one of thecomedies of the season thanks to ahumourous and racy text and especially, ofsituations to find yourself in. XavierBertrán is the responsible of the scriptwhereas the direction relapses into PepAntón Gómez.

> Fedra

Amador Rojas, Alejandro Granados,

Fedra changes mood and flows

through tragedy and words to the

world of dance, under the guiding

hand of Producciones Faraute.

Through dance, the universal language

of movement, we are taken to the

world of theatrical tragedy expressed in

the same way as the great Masters of

Theatre such as Eurípides, Racine,

Séneca or Unamuno. Lola Greco, along

with Amador Rojas, Alejandro

Granados, Carmelilla Montoya and the

company dance troupe form the ideal

cast to bring this show to life through

the medium of flamenco.

Fedra, the second wife of Teseo, is in

love with her step-son Hipolito.

However, enraged by his rejection

she goes to Teseo to accuse Hipolito of

seducing her. As a result Teseo

banishes his son, who then dies acci-

dentally. This causes Fedra to feel a

terrible guilt which leads to the tragic

ending of this work.

Textos: SOFÍA PINAR · Foto Apertura: PUERTO DE CARTAGENA

CARTAGENA SIEMPRE HA SIDO UN DESTINO PREDILECTO PARA AQUELLOS QUETIENEN SU VIDA MIRANDO AL MAR. SU INELUDIBLE RELACIÓN CON EL AGUASALADA HA HECHO Y FORJADO EL CARÁCTER DE SUS GENTES A LO LARGO DELA HISTORIA. ESOS DOS ELEMENTOS, LA HISTORIA Y EL MAR ESTRUCTURAN ENGRAN PARTE LA OFERTA CULTURAL DE LA CIUDAD. SIEMPRE MÁS ATRACTIVACUANDO SE DISPONE DE UNOS DÍAS LIBRES.

CARTAGENA HAS ALWAYS BEEN A PRIME DESTINATION FOR THOSE WHO AREDRAWN TO THE SEA. ITS INESCAPABLE MARITIME TIES HAVE FORMED AND FORGEDTHE CHARACTER OF ITS PEOPLES THROUGHOUT ITS HISTORY, AND THESE TWO ELEMENTS, HISTORY AND THE SEA, FORM THE BASIS FOR THE MAJORITY OF THECULTURAL ACTIVITIES ON OFFER. THE VISITOR CAN EASILY TAKE SEVERAL DAYS TOFULLY APPRECIATE THE CITY.

C The main attraction is the Roman theatre which is withouta doubt one of the most important archaeological disco-veries of recent times. Its preservation has lead to the cre-ation of a new museum space which has become thepride of Cartagena and a point of interest for anyone whospends time in the city. Until April 11th we can visit the exhibition Arx. since its inauguration a little over a year ago, has recei-ved thousands of visitors who have been fascinated bythis little known world. The Archaeological and Navalmuseums are also well worth a visit. The Town Hall also proposes various routes whichallow the visitor to appreciate the distinct artisticaspects of the city, which in combination provide anexplanation as to why Cartagena is known as 'Theport of cultures'.The Archaeological route guides the visitor to theremains of the different civilizations who have madetheir home in Cartagena. It takes in the Muralla Púnica(the Punic Wall) which dates from 227BC, the RomanTheatre Museum, which has recently opened a newsection, and the Torre Ciega (Blind Tower). TheBaroque and Neoclassic route takes us to the Puertadel Arsenal (the Arsenal Gate) and the Modernist andEclectic route centres on the Fuerte de Navidad. Builtin 1860, this fort is a sign of the importance ofCartagena on the axis of the Mediterranean. TheContemporary route focuses on the importance of thesea in the history of the city and includes the Peral sub-marineand the Naval Museum. Some of the most attractive views of the city can beobtained from the sea aboard the Catamaran Turistico.Whilst visiting Cartagena we should not forget its gas-tronomic delights. The typical dishes have the distincti-ve taste of the Mediterranean, and local produce formsa base for its cuisine in which fish takes the centrestage. A prime example is the unmissable Caldero, orfor a land-based dish, Conejo al Ajo Cabañil.Cartagena once again proves that for its cultural, lei-sure, and culinary attractions it's a place to visit allyear round.

TANQUERAY /Precio:12,99euros

> Tanqueray. Nueva piel

Both love and special care is what comes to mind when

looking back over the past decades at Tanqueray. The New

Year will bring a new look to the bottle. This new bottle

has been a challenge to design as the previous model has

been cared for and admired by the most famous expert

cocktail shaker barmen.

Although the new shape of the bottle has a new vintage

feel, it continues to reflect the true essence of Gin. The new

slender, tapered design allows barmen to manipulate the

bottle with greater ease. The launch of this new design has

been used to appeal to new social groups and drinkers.

Within this new design the heart of Tanqueray remains the

same: an award winning world class drink.

obra. Además, hay elementos procedentes de diversas

colecciones particulares.

Se podrán contemplar principalmente objetos de cerámica,

porcelana, marfil, mobiliario, tejidos, pinturas y estampas.

The new exhibition at The National Museum of Decorative

Arts is called "Fascinated by the East". As the name

suggests, this exhibition captures the real interest and

fascination of a western culture which continues to be

intrigued by the cultural and artistic expression of the

Far East. This exhibition explores the relationship between

western and eastern cultures.

The exhibition is a collection of over 300 pieces. The real

importance of this exhibition can be felt by looking at the

origin of many of the pieces on display. Although many

pieces are from the museum, institutions and museums

such as The National Prado museum, The Royal Palace,

The National Library, The National Anthropology Museum,

Museo Cerralbo, The Naval Museum and The Royal

Botanical Garden have also contributed. Many pieces are

also from a wide range of private collectors.

Ceramics, pottery, porcelain, ivory, furniture, textiles,

paintings and prints can be seen. The most important

pieces to see in this exhibition are: A cup which has

been made from a rhinoceros horn, the cargo from the

Chinese ship Vung Tau, a painting of The Beautiful Maria

from Soralla and some Fortuny textiles.Fascinated by the

East is a new way forward The National Museum of

Decorative Arts.

A season of experimental exhibits which truly communicates

to its visitors the rich meaning of each exhibit whilst arouses

the interests and concerns of the modern society.

Last April the authentic American flavour arrivedin Madrid. New York Burger makes homage tothe most universal dish found in The UnitedStates. The hamburger is has been redefined inthis New restaurant found in General Yagüestreet and its decoration transports us to thestreets of New York. The whole place has been

inspired by this city of skyscrapers with amodern, cosmopolitan aesthetics. The diningroom on the top floor, with the capacity for 20persons, has two enormous windows, onefacing the street and the other towards the kit-chen which really reveals the personality of thisestablishment. On the ground floor, which canaccommodate up to 50 diners, you will findmodern images such as Sinatra, AudreyHepburn and Marilyn. The wall seem to breathPop Art as you listen to the great American mas-

ters of rock and pop gently in the background. The menu strictly follows the guidelines of anyNorth American purist. The first is the meatwhich is always of the highest quality and ten-derness. Daily this meat is minced, mixed andseasoned with a "secret recipe" that grantscolour, amazing texture and a spectacular fla-vour. Once prepared, this burger passes through

a coal oven until this fat and oil free burger iscooked to juicy perfection. The only problem that we see here is the hugevariety the menu has to offer which makes youdecision very difficult! There are more than four-teen traditional variations to choose from inclu-ding The New York Burger, Central Park and avegetarian burger which replaces the meat withvegetables. But if you dare, you can create your own burgerby choosing from a combination of fifteen diffe-rent ingredients. You even have to choose theweight of you burger, 160g, 250g or 350g.Do you dare to take immerse yourself into NewYork or would you just prefer a take out?

JOHNNY Y COCHISE > ESCENAS

Texto: MARIO DE LAS HERAS
