Knit 4 Malawi
People world wide are knitting for Malawi’s Fish & Chip babies – BE PART OF IT!
• ‘Fish & Chip Babies’ is the name give to some babies born in Malawi in Africa.
• As the hospitals didn't have sufficient clothes or blankets for the babies, they wrapped them in newspaper to keep them warm therefore giving them the nickname ‘Fish & Chip Babies’.
By joining this group you can:-• create something that has a very real
purpose.
• learn the basics of knitting
Currently the greatest need is for blanketsquares, to be made into blankets for the mothers to wrap the babies in, and to use as slings for carrying them around. Plus larger size jumpers are also needed as the babies are now surviving to grow into them.
Who can knit? Everyone – girls, boys, those who have knitted before and complete beginners. Give it a go!
