TCHS Class of 2017 Local Scholarships (Sponsored by Tifton area families, businesses, and organizations) Application Procedures: 1. READ through the entire local scholarship packet. Read the directions, scholarship list, Part I, and Part II of the Scholarship Application. 2. Review the scholarship list again and select five (5) scholarships for which you may be interested and eligible. Be sure to note if additional information is needed, such as an extra application or letters of recommendation. Be sure to allow 1-2 weeks for someone to write you a letter of recommendation. 3. Complete Part I and Part II of application (Use Ink Pen). Leave the name of the scholarship blank at this point. 4. Make five (5) copies of your completed application. Be sure to keep copies for your records. 5. Print or type the name of the specific scholarship for which you wish to apply in the top right corner of each of your four applications. 6. Some Scholarships will require a separate application form. (These forms will be available in the guidance office. Please see Mrs. Jackson) 7. Make sure your applications are neat and legible. Return each of your completed applications (part I, part II, and all supplemental information required) to the Guidance Department before: DEADLINE: Monday Feb. 27, 2017 by 3:00 PM. APPLICATION-PART II: SHORT ESSAY

Type a 500 + word essay explaining why you deserve the scholarship that you are applying for. (If the scholarship asks for a specific type of essay, please follow the instructions for that particular scholarship).

Be sure YOUR name Is at the top of each page.

Your Essay (Part II) should be attached to Part I (first page) of each application.

Make sure you are including everything you are being asked to include in your essay for each application. Keep a copy for your files.

Always make copies of all paperwork submitted for your records.
