HCLOS PMP-E provides network operators with comprehensive tools to operate and manage their
networks. The centralized Network Management System (NMS) simplifies many common maintenance
and administration tasks by allowing password protected access for qualified personnel to view and
configure crucial network parameters. The NMS includes functions for complete subscriber station
provisioning that allows the system operator to create and administer Quality of Service (QoS) based
on downstream/upstream data rates and priority. These policies are assigned directly to each subscriber
station on the network or could be preset for a specific mission to simplify and minimize the network
deployment time.
The NMS also continuously monitors and logs critical base station and subscriber station statistics
and can provide on-demand report generation and analysis, including:
• Monitor and adjust downstream/upstream RF parameters
• Packet statistics
• Bandwidth usage and throughput
• Online/offline status monitoring
HCLOS™ PMP-EUltra Electronics HCLOS PMP-E extends the reach of Ultra Electronics broadband high-capacity
line-of-sight (LOS) Point-to-Point systems and provides cost-effective Point-to-Multipoint connectivity.
HCLOS PMP-E is a long range, secure, IEEE 802.16e mobile WiMAX broadband wireless platform
delivered in a compact form factor. The HCLOS PMP-E is a single sector base station that can be easily
installed by a single person and provides connectivity to fixed or mobile end points. Connected via
a single Power-over-Ethernet (PoE) connection and easily provisioned, the HCLOS PMP-E reduces
operational cost and complexity. The HCLOS PMP-E system is powered by OFDMA radio technology,
which is robust in adverse channel conditions and enables On-the-Move (OTM) Non-Line-Of-Sight (NLOS)
operation. Leveraging link adaptation algorithms, modulation and coding are continuously adapted
to prevailing link conditions, ensuring an optimal balance between robustness and efficiency. The use
of MIMO radio technology enables peak link performance by maintaining maximum bandwidth
and service coverage.
Designed for complex and
sensitive applications where
reliability and performance are
crucial, Ultra Electronics TCS
solutions provide high-capacity,
long-range Point-to-Point,
Point-to-Multipoint and
On-the-Move communications
links to support critical
C5ISR operations in tactical
environments.
BenefitsFast deployment
The HCLOS PMP-E has a small form factor, with the baseband and the radio electronics all included
in a single pole-mounted transceiver. Both the base station and subscriber station are lightweight and
can be easily installed by a single person in a matter of minutes on a portable tripod mast, pole or wall.
Different models of subscriber stations are available and can be adapted to different network solutions
and applications. A wall/pole mounted subscriber station is available for fixed applications, a vehicular
subscriber station is currently available for OTM and a USB port powered dongle subscriber station
is available for carry-on laptop deployment.
Deliver a full set of communications services to remote units
HCLOS PMP-E provides VoIP and standard telephone services, video services (video surveillance, video
feeds, videoconferencing), collaboration services (multimedia streaming, file transfer, remote application
access, C4I) and data services (Internet/GIG access, e-mail).
Reduce cost by eliminating cabling
The immediate benefit of such deployments is the replacement of the cabling infrastructure by small
and light wireless subscriber stations – reducing deployment time, increasing the flexibility and reach of
the network, and simplifying maintenance and handling. A Point-to-Multipoint deployment also reduces
the amount of infrastructure required. Adding more subscriber stations to the network is simple and
requires no equipment changes at the base station site. If more overall bandwidth is required for
the Point-to-Multipoint network, additional base station sectors can be easily added.
Easily extend the reach of existing equipment
The HCLOS PMP-E can easily be integrated with IP-enabled shelters to provide an extension to the
wireless communications network backbone. The base station can be mounted on a pole integrated
onto the shelter, or can be remotely mounted on a lightweight mast with tripod.
Integrated Logistic Support, Training & System Maintenance
System support and maintenance is critical to mission success. Ultra Electronics TCS works with its users
to create a support infrastructure to enable effective and efficient system operation and maintenance.
This infrastructure includes:
• User maintenance training programs
• Logistic support, including provisioning for spares and equipment repair
• Trained engineering support resources as required
