The eight olive groves contain 500 trees, predominantly of Tuscan cultivars -

Frantoio, Leccino and Pendolino, with a later addition of the Spanish cultivar Picual.

A small number of Koroneiki trees were also planted.

Azzuro olive trees produce international award-winning Extra Virgin Olive Oil that

commands premium prices. Tender hand care is applied throughout the

production process; from growing to harvesting and processing through to storage

and bottling. Its competitive advantage and international appeal lies in the

exceptional growing features of the property. The property is free from chemical

sprays and boasts high temperatures coupled with a gently sloping hillside terrain –

LOCATION  

In the heart of Auckland’s sparkling Hauraki Gulf, Waiheke Island is a picturesque

35-minute ferry ride from downtown Auckland, and has an international reputation

rainfall.

From the ferry landing at Matiatia Wharf it is a short walk to the small town of

gets you to Oneroa Beach, one of the most accessible beaches. The north-

facing beaches— sheltered bays with little surf—are the best for swimming. The

most popular is Palm Beach, 10 minutes by bus from Oneroa. Another great

beach on Waiheke is Onetangi, on the north side of the Island, 20 minutes from

Matiatia by bus. Whakanewha Regional Park, on the south side of the Island, is a

lovely bush reserve with gently cascading waterfalls leading down to a half-moon
