Well,ifthere’sjustalittlebitofgasinthere,andyoulightamatch,nothinghappens,justlikehesaid .Ifthere’samediumamountofgas,itgoeska-boom!Andifthere’sawholelotofgas,itdoesnothing .Isn’tthatweird?You’dthinkwithawholelotofgasitwouldmakeanevenbiggerka-boom .Butinordertomakeaka-boom,thegashastohavesomethingtoburnwith .

There’sthreethingsitneedstostayalive .Canyouthinkofonethingitneedstostayalive?[Student: Air.]Air,yeah .There’soxygenintheair .Whatelsedoesitneedtostayalive?[Student: Something to burn?]Okay,somethingtoburn .Anditalsoneedssomeheattokeepitgoing .

Soinyourhousethere’sacertainamountofair,acertainamountofoxy-gen .Ifyouputjusttherightamountofgas,it’llgoka-boom!Ifyouputtoomuch,andshoveoutalloftheair,thenitcan’tburn--there’snoairthere .Andifthere’stoolittle,there’snotenoughgastogetitstarted .Sotodaywe’regoingtobegoofingaroundwithwaystofindouthowmuchisjusttherightamountofair .

Anddownbelowwehavesomeland,andthere’sariverbytheland,andthere’speoplelivingthereincardboardboxesbecausetheycan’taffordhouses .Yep,there’ssomenicecardboardboxes,theycutholesforwindowsandjustleavethefrontopen .Theylivehereandthereintheforest .Weneedaforest--let’sputinaforestofredwoodtrees .

Andthepeoplearelookingforwaystogetfood .Andtheydiscoveredthatifyoudigadeepholeintheground,foodwillfallintothehole .Butiftheyseetheholefirst,thefoodwon’tfallintothehole .Soyoudisguisetheopeningoftheholebyputtingsomesticksoveritandsomeleavesandsomedirt,soitjustlooksliketheground .Andifthere’sfoodcomingby--supposethere’sagiantorange-flavoredicecreamconecomingby .He’sjustwalkingby,mindinghisownbusiness--boing,bo-ing,boing,boing,boing--andhedoesn’tseethehole .Nextthingyouknow,crash!--theicecreamconefallsdownintothehole .Andthenwhenyou’rehun-gry,yougolook--thereitis,foodtoeat .

Story: “The Kick-Mes Agains the Minions”

Evil Mister Fred on his flying vacuum cleaner.

The people lived in cardboard boxes.

They covered the holes with sticks and leaves.

Food roaming the forest included Pickle Pizzas, Pineapples, and Orange Ice Cream Cones.

There’sapineapple .There’sapicklepizza .Andhereisanicecream .Andthere’sholes--let’sputabunchofholes,becausetherearelotsofhungrypeople .

Now,acoupleofpeoplethatliveoutthereareJack--he’sgotshorthair--andJill--shedoesn’thaveshorthair .ThisisJill .She’sgotlonghair .Jill’shairisinfinitelylong,anditcangrowinfinitelyfastifyoutrytocutitoff .

Andtheyhavesomefriendswiththem .TheyhavetheirfriendstheKick-Mes .Kick-Mesarelittleguysthatlooklikethis,andtheyhaveatargetontheirstomach,andthey’realwayssad .They’reonlyhappyifyoukickthem .Ifyoukickthemrightonthetarget,thentheyyellandsay,“Yayyy!”Theylovebeingkickedontheirtargets .Ifyoukickthemoveracliff,andtheygocrash,crash,crash,crashdownthecliff,theylaughandgigglethewholeway .Ifyoukicktheminfrontofabigoldtank,andtheygetrunoverandsquishedoutflat,oh,theylovethat!Orifyoukickthemintoafire,theyburnupintosmoke,andthenthesmokecomesbacktogether,andtheyjustlaugh,theythinkthisisgreat .

SoJackandJillkicktheirKick-Mesallaround,theplaysoccerwiththem,theyplaybasketballwiththem,andhaveagoodtimewithalltheirKick-Mes .Andwhenevertheyneedfood,they’llkickaKick-Medownthehole,andtheKick-MewillgatherthefoodupandthrowituptoJackandJill .

SoEvilMisterFredseesallthisgoingon,andhedecidestomaketheirlifemiserable .EvilMisterFredhasawholevacuumcleanerbagfullofminions .Minionsarelittleguyswithnoarms .Theyhavetodoeverythingwiththeirmustaches .Luckily,theyhaveverystrongmustaches .Andtheminionsarehisarmy .Hewantstotakeovertheworldwiththem .They’renottoosmart,buttheydowhathesays,oratleasttheytryto .

Sohe’sgotthiswholebagfullofminions .Andhesays,“I’vegotanidea .I’mgoingtoturnmyvacuumcleaneraroundbackwards .Insteadofsuckingstuffin,it’llblowitout .Sohedid .HepushedtheBack-wardsbutton,andnowitstartedshootingminionsout .Sonowit’srainingminionsonJackandJill,like

that .Minions,minions,minions,minions,bouncingallovertheplace .Andassoonastheminionshittheground,they’reeatingupallthefood,andhavingaterribletimetryingtofindenoughfood,untiltheyfindtheseholeswherethefoodis .Andminionsgodownintheholestoeatthefood .

AndJackandJillwanttogetridofthem .AndtheystartkickingKick-Mesdownintotheholeswiththeminions,hopingtheKick-Mewillkicktheminionsoutofthehole .TheydiscoveredthatifyouputtoomanyKick-Mesinthehole,itdoesn’tworktoowell .IfyouputtoofewKick-Mesin,itdoesn’tworktoowell .ButifyouwereJackandJill,anditwasrainingminions,andyouweretryingtostopthemfromeatingallyourfood,whatwouldyoudo?

Now,forourexperiment,wehaveacoupleofwaystodoit .Onewayiswithbreathspray .Let’sseeifthishasanyinit .Yeah,that’sgotsomeinit .Didyouseethelittlepuff?Okay .Andthelittlepufferismadetopuffbecausethere’ssomegasinthere .We’llseeifthegaslights .[Sprays the breath spray over the flame on a cigarette lighter.]Didyouseethat?Sothisthinghasgasinit[cigarette lighter];yousawitmakeaflame .Andthishasgasinit[breath spray],butitdoesn’tusuallyflame .Imagineyouwanttofreshenyourbreath,andyouwanttopuffsomeofthisinyourmouth .Andyou’vegotacigaretteinyourmouth .Isthecigarettelit?Yeah .Andyougopoof!!--youcouldblowoffyourface!Ifyouhaveabeard,youcouldprobablycatchyourbeardonfire .Andyou’dgoarounddoingthe“ooh-ahooh-ahdance .”

[After collecting the launchers, goggles, and earmuffs, the In-structor brings out a small pvc cannon.]

Thisisasmallcannonofsorts .Sometimesitworks,sometimesitdoesn’t .We’regoingtoputinaboutsixsquirtsofbreathspray--one,two,three,four,five,six--we’regoingtostickinatennisball .[Student:Andthenyoupressthatwhitething .]No,there’snowhitethingtopress,justahole .Andwehaveacigarettelighter,andwe’regoingtotryandhitourdragonupthereandtrynottobreakthelights .[Instructor places end of long butane lighter in hole in cannon.]Sowe’llputthishere .Okay,five,four,three,two,one .[Tennis ball shoots out of the cannon and bounces off the wall.]Wecantrythisoutsideandseehowhighitgoes .[Student: Can we make it?]No,yourparentsprobablywouldn’tbehappyifIgaveyouatennisballcannon .Let’sgooutside .

[Outside, Instructor stands at one end of the parking lot and the students at the other, waiting to catch the balls. Instructor swings the empty cannon back and forth a few times.]I’mputtingfreshairinit .Areyouready?[Instructor fires cannon and students try to catch the tennis balls. After shooting four or five balls, they go back inside.]

AndoneoftheholeswasdirectlyunderEvilMisterFred .Andsomeofhisminionscameupandka-blam!--hithimrightoffofhisvacuumcleaner .Ashewastryingtofall,--boom,boom,boom--moreminionskepthit-tinghim,untilEvilMisterFredgotblastedclearoverthemountains .Andeverybodylivedhappilyeverafter,exceptEvilMisterFred .
