Teacher’s prayer
I want to teach my students how to live this life on Earth, To face its struggles and its strife and to improve their worth,
Not just the lesson in a book or how the river flows, But to choose proper path Wherever they may go, To understand eternal truth And know right from wrong, And gather all the beauty of A flower and a song
For if I help the world to grow in wisdom and grace, Then I feel that I have won And I have filled my place And so I ask your guidance , Allah That I may do my part, For character and confidence And happiness of heart.

‘hands on’ experience of
how to plant paddy, the
flying fox and how to feed
the goats. From the eco
camp, I have learned to take
good care of
animals; preserve
nature; build my
confidence; and
the importance of
good teamwork.
On 5th April 2016, I
joined the Khalifah Eco
camp at Radiant
Retreat, Janda Baik,
Pahang. We departed
from Kuala Lumpur
at 8:00 a.m. There
were many activities
scheduled during
our 3 days at the
camp. Some of the
activities were jun-
gle trekking, flying
fox, visiting ‘Fitrah
farm’ and the goat
farm.
I managed to get a
Lower Primary by Zikri (G1)
but this time it was dif-
ferent. We played Ex-
plorace; it was all about
nature and conserva-
tion, where we had to
use nature to build a
house and find insects
and fish in the river. It
was a lot of fun and
Alhamdulillah, we
learnt a lot of things.
this time.
On our first day of our
Eco Camp, the whole
school gathered at
Masjid Taqwa. We
prayed Solat Dhuha
then we were off to
Janda Baik. The first
activity we did was
about team bonding,
team building and
team work. After that,
we went for river trek-
king. It was fun cross-
ing the river with vines
and ropes.
Day two of camp
was an amazing
experience. We
learned and did
so many new
things such as
the obstacle course,
rope climbing and
playing paintball with
our teachers. We
learned to be brave,
smart, hardworking
and to work as a team.
On Day three, we did
river trekking again -

because not only were
we working hard - we
could chill simultane-
ously in the nice, cool
weather and endless
flowing water beneath
us. Unfortunately, time
was running out so we
didn't get to see a wa-
terfall, but that was fi-
ne because we still had
great memories to
cherish. Finally, we
wrapped up the day in
the bus, with home
awaiting us.
April 5th 2016- Masjid
At-Taqwa was filled
with students and
teachers praying solat
Hajat before departing
for Janda Baik. Three
buses were used as
transport - the second-
ary occupied one while
the primary occupied
the other two. The
journey took about 45
minutes. We arrived at
Site A of Radiant Re-
treats around 10a.m.
From there, the sec-
ondary students
walked to Haji
Awaluddin's Farm,
where we learned how
to do natural farming.
At the farm, animals
such as chicken, ducks,
cats and geese were
spotted. We got the op-
portunity to feed the
chicks and ducklings
with some types of
plants that are grown
there. Our farming ses-
sion ended at lunch
time. We walked back
to our base (site A) and
ate Nasi Ayam for
lunch. After that we
prayed and packed our
bags for the next activi-
ty, river trekking. This
was the best as we
worked co-operatively
for every challenge we
had to face, keeping up
our resilience. Students
especially enjoyed it

Teacher’s Day by Najwa (G8)
On the 13th of May 2016, we celebrated our 10th Teacher’s
Day. After a few days of preparation by the Grade 9 students (led by Teacher Ikhwan and
Teacher Aliah) - and not to forget our two amazing Emcees, Ilham and Nisa from Grade 8 -
we managed to pull off an amazing celebration to thank our wonderful teachers for their
superb job. However, like every year, Teacher’s Day wasn't just to thank our teachers but
also the admin staff, our principals, the school helpers and security guard - who deserve it
just as much.
The day started off with a short briefing in the musolla, along with our two Emcees,
who had a few things to say. After our breakfast, the teachers got ready to battle the stu-
dents in the outdoor activities. The male teachers went against the male students in foot-
ball, which the teachers obviously won. While they did that, the female teachers battled the
female students in a game mash up between netball and basketball, which once again was
won by the teachers! It’s alright fellow students, there’s always next year!
After everyone calmed down a little and the primary students got to play a few
games, the Male teachers had a burger making contest at the canteen. I’m positively sure
the outcome was delicious! As for the female teachers and admin, they had an Arabian
themed fashion show in the Musolla. It was certainly a beautiful and interesting event. Lat-
er on, the teachers played ‘minute to win it’, which consisted of charades, cup stacking and
color-coding skittles. Everyone was so competitive that the scores were so close to one an-
other.
Lastly, after lunch and Solat Jumaah, everyone returned to the musolla. There we
watched a short video dedicated to the teachers by two anonymous students from Grade 9.
We also had the prize giving for the teachers’ categories; and for the admin, school helpers
and security guard. Then we gave out the prizes to the winners of the games, and the male
and female teachers performed two separate performances. It was spectacular! There was
also a surprise performance by our own Grade 9 students and the two emcees, led by Irsa-
lina (G9). They called themselves the ‘Beat’les. I have to hand it to them - it was a very
unique performance. We also had a speech from the Principal, Puan Shaheerah, and a du’a
by Ustaz Nurhadi. With that the day was complete, and it’s safe to say that it was another
successful Teacher’s Day!

On Friday, 10th June, Camp Al-Lail was
held at Itqan Integrated School and Masjid At-
Taqwa. The program started with everybody tak-
ing a short nap, also known as Qailullah. After
Asar, there was talk about managing challenges
faced by youth. It was so interesting and we
learned a lot of things.
Then, we broke the fast and prayed Ma-
ghrib. The students then packed for Masjid At-
Taqwa to pray Isha’ and terawih. After terawih,
we had moreh at the back of the masjid. Then,
each of us got one Juz that we had to finish before we slept. The next day we woke up for sa-
hur, prayed fajr and read Al-Ma’thurat. Then, we had a nice jog at the park for around 30
minutes. It was energizing and a lot of fun. Lastly, we went back to the masjid, prayed Solat
Dhuha and Camp Al-Lail ended.

Report Card Day 2 by Sh. Husna &Irsalina (G9)
Itqan’s end year Report Card Day was held on
the 25th of June 2016. Various events took place on that
day such as, parent-teacher meetings and sales. The
musolla was packed and arranged with tables for the
parents to discuss with the teachers in regards to their
child’s progress in school. On the other hand, booths for
on-sale-items were arranged at the school’s patio.
Another booth was opened for those who wanted to
pre-order school club and class photos.
It was a day filled with nervous but excited children and parents meeting teachers that
were stationed all around the school. Homeroom Teachers were seated in their individual classes,
giving out students’ report cards, positions in class and discussing the students’ overall strengths
and weaknesses throughout the term. All other subject teachers were positioned in the musolla,
where parents could easily see them to converse about their child(ren)s’ grades and exam papers.
As for the sales, the school had prepared a Preloved Item Sale that consisted of all
kinds of objects, varying from bags and perfumes to books and picture frames for very cheap pric-
es. The booths were manned by some of the Grade 8 and 9 students.
At 11.15 a.m., a break and briefing session for the parents took place in the
musolla. They gathered and Puan Shaheerah, the secondary principal, gave a talk to
the parents about the school’s collaboration with parents for the betterment of their
children. It ended around 12.00 p.m. and the 2nd half of report card collecting session
had begun.
Alhamdulillah, despite everyone being exhausted from this fasting day of
Ramadhan, the whole event was a success and everything finished on time. We hope
that the future Report Card Days will be as victorious, Insha Allah.

Assalamu’alaikum w.b.t. MashaAllah, the year has passed by so fast and we find ourselves at the end of the year already! This year has seen us facing different challenges such as the unfortunate cancellation of the much anticipated Sports Day, due to prolonged haze. However, in place of that the Itqan Carnival and Charity Run proved to be a fun beneficial event for all Itqanese and fami-ly members alike. Alhamdulillah and jazakumullahu khair for all the support and cooperation from all parties that has helped us in carrying out our role and responsibility to the best of our ability. This year saw us focusing more on academic performance as well as in-house teacher training and development. For the first time, Itqan Grade 9 students sat for the Cambridge Checkpoint Examinations. A lot of ef-fort went in to prepae and equip the students for the exams. InshaAllah they will be getting the results within a few weeks from now. I am sure students, parents and teachers alike will be waiting anxiously to know the outcome! After the final exams and Report Card Day, students and teachers alike have been busy preparing for their Khatam Quran and Ihtifal. There is a buzz of excitement as they busy themselves practicing for their perfor-mances, assisting the teachers with preparations, etc. It is also time to reap the rewards of their hard work and efforts, with the prize-giving ceremony just round the corner. Our annual Iftar Jama’i has always been a special event for us as it fos-ters close “ukhuwah” between parents, all Itqan staff and students of both Itqan Montessori Preschool as well Itqan Integrated school. It is then that we break fast together, pray together and celebrate together. Last but not least, we wish you a blessed last few days of Ramadhan and pray that Allah swt accepts our ibadah, grants us and our loved ones for-giveness, mercy and guidance. May He raise us in our ranks, keep us close to Him and be in His protection always. May He grant us iman and taqwa in playing our roles as his Khalifahs as well as His slaves. Ameen, ya Rabb. May Allah s.w.t. bless our children and Itqan. Sharifah Shaheerah H. Alhabshi Principal/Executive Director
