Lemshaga is a public school 30 kilometres outside of Stockholm. Its was founded 1995. 2005 the school had 340 pupils between ages 3-16. The school is situated on the premise of Lemshaga Manor estate, which dates back to 1632. Part of the curriculum is caring for the animals on the farm.

The motto for the Lemshaga model is: A school that values chickens and computers. Despite its somewhat whimsical phrasing, the motto gets to the very heart of the experiences at Lemshaga. The unique aspect of the aim in the school is the attempt to mix the old with the new, the future with tradition. At

Lemshaga, the children work in a learning environment, which emphasises Sweden’s cultural inheritance and the link with nature, while simultaneously creating an environment that stimulates joy in gaining tangible experience in the new technology the children will be expected to use in the next century’s global society.
