GOAL OBJECTIVES TEACHING STRATEGIES LEARNING ACTIVITIES

The mother will learn about the vaccines

required for children between the ages of 0-6 yrs, the diseases those

vaccines protect against, and the consequences of

choosing not to vaccinate their

child/children or missing a dose.

The pt. will:

1. State the correct amount of immunizations that can be administered to a child by the age of 6 years.

2. Name at least 3 of the diseases (Chickenpox, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Pertussis, Hib, HepA, HepB, Influenza, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Polio, Pneumococcal, Rotavirus) that the vaccines available for children 0-6 yrs are protected against.

3. Provide at least 3 of the possible complications (infection, cancer, paralysis, death, etc.) of the 14 diseases associated w/ the vaccines.

The teacher will:
