Development direction of company business system using mobile en-vironments through general flow of production field, office and com-pany administration information system from the past to the current
IT systems/applications for a company have been sufficiently unified and integrated or constructed. However, is it possible to satisfy the expectations of management & administration organizations as well as production field & business/sales field by simply access-ing corresponding systems through cell phones ?
The start point is the conveyor belt of Ford in the first 20th century.A representative system in a production field has contributed to improve the productivity by au-tomating manufacturing processes efficiently and organically via the FAS stage represented by PLC/PAC which enables mass storage production through the automation of factory and facilities.
Then, systems such as ERP, SCM and MRO has been constructed and introduced according to the requirements of collaboration with production distribution, storehouse, the outside and so on. They include CAD, CAM, CAE (support tools in the previous stage of production) and so on.
At the present time, there has been attempted to replace automation using industrial PDAs in physical distribution and storehouse fields with smart phones and related applications.
The start point is a document management system and an accounting automation system devel-oped from Xerox PARC in 1970’s.
While the most features in the production field are ‘efficiency and automation’, the most features in the business and sales field are efficiency progress.
Starting from EDM for integrated management of various documents, groupware (communica-tion support tool) and various integration tools such as ERPs or EPs have been used up to now.
At the present time, the labor productivity, initiative spirit and spontaneity of a knowledge work-er are considered as the key factor of competitive power of company. This is the starting point of mobile applications as basic tools for vertical and horizontal communication & efficient and inte-grated communication.
This field has been established in the process of providing various pieces of information neces-sary for decision making of administration activities to an IT system.
Due to the effort of company management and administration executive for improving the ef-ficient integration and competitive power of production, manufacturing, distribution and sales, continuous investment has been made for the IT system.
DSS/MIS having collected necessary for initial decision making has been integrated and devel-oped to EIS/ERP, EP/CRM and so on.
The aim is to achieve high business efficiency and competitive power/continuity by utilizing the high computing power and mobility/instantaneousness of mobile devices. However, the best practice has not been found, except for a system that supports business continuity from the out-side of an office.

Mobile Office Status in Market
Argument about or approach to an application type or a browser type is just a consideration and not a key point. That is, a key point of solution or product selection is a business support capacity and actual productivity available in situations in which users have to do work during move-ment or outside an office.
