NOTICE OF RACE

Organising Authority:Tamar Yacht Club Inc. (TYC)
Rules:
The regatta will be governed by the Racing Rules of Sailing (RRS), the prescriptions of the AS, class rules (except as any of these are altered by the sailing instructions) and by the sailing instructions.
Eligibility and Entries:The regatta is open to competitors who are members of clubs affiliated with Australian Sailing. Off the beach classes included will be Optimist, Laser, Sharpie and Windsurfer (LT and R300). Other classes will be considered by the Organising Authority subject to prior arrangements.

The race committee will aim for a daily lunch break, timed to suit the program.
No warning signal shall be made after 15:00hrs on Sunday 27th September 2020.

Entry Fees are as follows:
Members of the Tamar Yacht Club: $30
Non-members (Optimist, Laser, Windsurfer): $35
Non-Member (Sharpie): $45

Late entries received after 17:00 on Friday 25th September will incur a late entry fee of $15.
Sailing Instructions:
Sailing instructions will be available online at https://tyc.yachting.org.au from Thursday 24th September or at registration from 0900 on Saturday 26th September at the Tamar Yacht Club Regatta office.
Racing Area:
The racing will be on the waters of Tamar River in the vicinity of the Tamar Yacht Club, Beauty Point.
Courses:
Courses will be as described in the Sailing Instructions.
Scoring:
The low point scoring system, Appendix A, will apply. The number of races to be discarded will be specified in the Sailing Instructions.
Prizes:
Prizes shall be awarded to the lowest scoring boats in each class if a series is completed to the first, second and third finishers in the series.
Other prizes shall be awarded at the discretion of the organisers.
The presentation will be held at the TYC at the end of sailing, not earlier than 45 minutes after the last boat finishes, unless there are any unresolved protests.
Safety
Boats launching from TYC shall sign on prior to leaving shore. Prior to starting, ALL boats shall report to the Committee Boat once on station by hailing their sail number and their division, and having their hail acknowledged by the staff on the Committee boat. Failure to comply with this Sailing Instruction may result in action by the Race Committee.
Boats returning to TYC shall sign off upon returning to shore.
Boats retiring or leaving the course for whatever reason shall inform the Committee Boat either in person, or via a rescue or coach boat at the earliest possible opportunity.
Indemnity All those taking part in races conducted by the TYC do so at their own risk and responsibility. The TYC is not responsible for the seaworthiness of a yacht whose entry is accepted or the sufficiency or adequacy of its equipment. The TYC is not responsible for any damage or injury, either ashore or at sea, to persons or yachts that might result from participating in races conducted by the Club. Attention is drawn to World Sailing Fundamental Rules 3 and 4.
Insurance Each participating boat shall be insured with valid third-party liability insurance with a minimum cover of $5,000,000 per event or equivalent.
Social EventsCompetitors, Families and Friends are invited to a function at the Tamar Yacht Club on Saturday Evening. RSVP’s will be required with entry forms.

Unfortunately this year due to COVID-19, TYC is unable to offer their club facilities for camping or accommodation.

COVID-19 Protocols
As part of entry into this regatta, all sailors, officials, volunteers, families and spectators are required to comply with all COVID-19 requirements. The Organising Authority have the ability to refuse entry to those who fail to comply/pass all necessary checks. Upon leaving the event, it is required you contact a health provider immediately. Entry fees will be refunded if withdrawal from the event is required.
