BREADBOARD COMPETITION AT
GHRCE
First Year Engineering Department
conducted BREADBOARD COMPETITION for
second semester students on 15TH
March 2014 at G.
H. Raisoni college of Engineering under the aegis of
forum FAITH. This competition was a huge success
and it helped students to have basic understanding of
a breadboard and circuit designing. Since G. H.
Raisoni college of Engineering got status of an
‘Autonomous Institute’, different programmes and
competitions are being arranged for students to
enhance their subject knowledge and to clear their
concepts. BREADBOARD COMPETITION was a
part of such noble activity.
Topic given for this competition was
‘DESIGNING AMPLIFIER FOR ONE WAY
COMMUNICATION’. Students from different
streams participated in this competition. Dr. B. P.
Buety, Dean, FYBE, encouraged students to
participate in more number and she also gave her
fruitful suggestions for this competition. A kit with
high quality breadboard, a battery and required
components were made available to students. Time
allotted was about 2 hours. Prof. Tete and Prof.
Vyavhare from Electronics Department, GHRCE
were judges for this competition. They examined
each and every circuit. They verified connectivity,
circuit compactness and output of amplifier. Mrs. V.
D. Raut, Forum In-charge and all the faculties of
applied Physics were instrumental for the success of
the event.

Competition at GHRCE, Nagpur under
Technorion 2014
Department of Electronics Engineering,
G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering, Nagpur
organized a Bread Board Competition for B.E.
Students (Autonomy Batch) under Technorion 2014
on 24th Feb. 2014. There were 80 groups of
participants from different institute of Nagpur
region. All showed their skill with full zeal and
creativity. Three Round of the competition has been
taken and Winner group and Runner group were
awarded with prizes and certificate. Faculty
Coordinator Prof. M.M.Pathan along with students
coordinator Rohit Dhongde & his Team from
Electronics Engineering Dept put their immense
efforts to make the event successful.

Department of CSE organized UG
PROJECT EXHIBITION: 2013-14
Department of Computer Science and
Engineering had conducted a “Project Exhibition”
for UG Main projects on 13th March 2014 under
TEQIP-II. Projects were evaluated by a committee
of Mr. Prashant Sahita- InfoCepts Ltd., Mr. Sandeep
Bhiwgade-Persistent Systems Ltd., Mr. Akshay
Tiwari-Persistent Systems Ltd., Mr. Akshay Puri-
InfoCepts Ltd., Dr. L. G. Malik, Prof. D. P. Theng
and Prof. P. N. Borkar. Total 37 projects were
evaluated by the committee out of which two top
projects were selected for the Prize and other has
given remarks and suggestion for improvement. The
ideas were presented by students on different areas
including Intelligent Transport System (ITS), Big
Data & Cloud Computing, Android Applications,
RFID, NLP etc.
Department of Electronics Engineering
has organized “Final Year Project
Exhibition: 2013-14”
Department of Electronics Engineering,
GHRCE, Nagpur, organized the “Project
Competition 2014” for the students of final year.
Total 39 projects including nine interdisciplinary
projects and one project (having sponsorship of seed
money from college) were participated in the
competition.
All the projects were related to the field of
Electronics Engineering. For this event Mr. Ashish
Agrawal, Director, ACE Technologies, Nagpur, Mr.
Vinayraj Waghmare, Deputy Executive Engineer,
Mahatransco Chandrapur, Mr. Abhishek Pandurangi,
Founder, President closer2patents, Mumbai & Mr.
Parvez kuddroi, Innovation Officer, closer2patents,
Mumbai had judged the competition. All the judges
appreciated most of the participated projects. First
prize is given to the project “Intelligent Vehicle
Control Based on Identification of Road and Traffic
Signal operated RFID Transponders”, carried by the
students Abhishek Kumar, Aniket Zalke, Gaurav
Kumar and Mohammad A.Qureshi under the
guidance of Prof. Payal Ghuke. Second prize was
awarded to the project “Design of ICs with Neural
implementation & Realization of Logic Gates in
Neural Networks” carried out by the students
Surabhi Chaurasia, Swati Kumari, Suryateja
Yellamraju,Suraj Girolkar under the guidance of
Prof. A.D.Tete. The entire completion was
coordinated by Prof. N.P. Wyawahare, Project
Incharge and the faculties of Department of
Electronics Engineering.

Department of Computer Science &
Engineering organized pre submission seminar for
M.Tech.(CSE). M.E.(WCC), M.E.(ESC) and
M.E.(MT) between 18-27 March 2014. Various
external experts from VNIT Dr. A.G. Keskar, Dr.
K.D. Kulat, Dr. S.R. Sathe, Dr. P.S. Deshpande, Dr.
A.S. Gandhi, Dr. U.A. Deshpande evaluated the
projects and given valuable suggestions to students
for further improvement.

M Tech Fourth semester evaluation progress
seminar was held on 20th
and 21st of March 2014 in
Electronics Dept.The seminar was to basically
evaluate the project of Fourth sem Students of M
Tech VLSI & M.Tech Electronics students in front
of external experts.Prof.Amol Morankar was
external expert for M.Tech VLSI branch &
Dr.A.G.Keskar was external expert for M.Tech
Electronics students. Dr.S.D.Giripunje and
Prof.P.H.Rangaree were the coordinators for the
above event.

Meet on 13th February, 2014.
To revise and finalize the new scheme for post
graduate studies and to discuss the content of the
revised syllabi, BOS Meet (9th BOS Meet) was
organized by the Department of Mechanical
Engineering, GHRCE on 13th
February, 2014.

Faculty Development Program for
GHRCE under TEQIP-II
The faculty development programme was
conducted for the faculty of GHRCE on 18th
January 2014 by Mr.Kamalesh Pande, Chief
Consultant, Forbes Marshall, Pune. Over 75 faculty
members attended the workshop.
At the beginning of the programme the
speaker Mr. Pande delivered a technical lecture on
the subject ‘Thermal Insulations’. The expert lecture
was in fact a demonstration to the faculties and the
students as to how a subject can be lucidly presented
to bring out what industries expect from class room
teaching. He unveiled different teaching skills
during this lecture.

During the session on ‘Recharging Raisoni
Spirit’ he impressed upon the faculty members about
the need of having an education trend which reflects
the requirements in market forces from time to time.
He emphasized on the need of adopting students-
centric approach in teaching learning and
development processes. He opined that
multidisciplinary projects, developing centres of
excellence with industry partnership would enable
cultivating win-win relationships with industries and
result in developing technologies or products for
SME’s. He also touched upon parallels between
industry & academia, need of being competitive and
developing into a learning organization and adapting
innovative practices as sure ways to forge ahead. At
the end, he advised faculty members to fully utilize
the energy of the youngsters in right direction.

GUEST LECTURE
Guest lecture was arranged in Electronics
Department for sixth semester students
ON : DESIGN OF MICROSTRIP
ANTENNAS
A guest lecture was arranged in Electronics
Department for sixth semester students on 22nd
of
march,2014. The lecture delivered by Prof. M. S
Narlawar was dedicated towards the designing of
Microstrip antennas. Prof. Narlawar is an esteemed
professor from Yeshwantrao Chavan College Of
Engineering with a teaching experience of 19 years
and currently perusing his PHD in Antennas.
The lecture proved to be very fruitful for all
the students who attended it as our guest lecturer
generously shared his knowledge about the subject
and and the theories around it. He explained to the
students the basic idea about antennas moving on
towards the designing of Microstrip antennas and its
application. He also shed light upon the recent trends
in antennas like cognitive radio technology, ultra
wideband etc. He also shared his experiences of
research and all the software that are best used for
the simulation of the various parameters of the
antennas.
Advances topic Ultra Wide Band, cognitive
antenna, reconfigure antenna, Microstrip antenna
and discuses different parameter for regarding
designing antenna was covered which partially full
field Course outcomes one and three of Microwave
Engineering.

8th March 2014 to 10
th March 2014 at Hotel Ashoka,
New Delhi on the theme, “International Recognition
of Education Qualifications” Organized by the
National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The
conference theme was of great significance globally
in the context of trade and technical services world-
wide.
The conference has facilitated a free
discussion on the means and mechanisms of
enabling and promoting mobility of students and
working professionals, parameters and criteria for
accreditation, concerns and plans for assurance of
quality world-wide, the educational framework in
various countries, and mutual recognition of
academic qualifications. The discussion and global
participation in WOSA 2014 has lead about new
ideas and establish trends, identify opportunities and
challenges in professional education world-wide.

Ms. Urmila Shrawankar, Dept. of Computer

Science & Engineering by Sant Gadge Baba
Amravati University.
The topic of her research was “Analysis and
Performance Measures for Human Computer
Interaction System Using Speech Signals In Adverse
Environments “. She has many research publications
in refereed journals. She carried out her research
under the guidance of Prof. Dr. V M Thakare,
Professor and Head, PG Department of Computer
Science & Engineering, Sant Gadge Baba Amravati
University, Amravati.

farewell function to the outgoing students of ( batch
2010-14 ) final year of the department on dated
25/3/2014. All students of section A and B were
present in the function. Director Dr. P.R Bajaj, Head
of department Dr.S.S.Dorle, Dr.P.B.Nagarnaik Dean
Academic, Controller of examination Prof.
S.S.Dorle graced the occasion along with the all
faculty members and teaching assistance of the
electronics departments.
Director guided the students in her farewell
speech said “Work for the cause of humanity and
give our best to our society, to our people and to our
country”. Dr. Dorle and Prof. S.S.Wankhede guided
students and and bestowed his blessings on the
outgoing students and wished them luck for their
final Examinations and all success in their career.
Students expressed their views on the occasion. The

conducted CSR activity at Z.P. Higher Primary
school, indiramata nagar , Hingana Nagpur on
3/02/2014. The activities were organized for
students of std. 6th and 7th of the school. The activity
was successfully carried out by First year M.Tech
students of Electronics Engg. Dept. accompanied by
Prof.A.D.Tete. Main aim of the activity was giving
technical knowledge to the school going children as
well as “Preparing Competitive” like Scholarship
exam ,J.N.V .entrance exam ,etc. for the students.
Activities taught to them included dynamo based
LED glowing, LED Display, Working of resistance
. The response of the school going student was
overwhelming and their grasp of technical
knowledge amazed one and all.
INDUSTRIAL VISIT
Students of B.E. Sixth semester/Section B
(Electronics) visited SMV Beverages Pvt.
Ltd. at Saoner, Nagpur.
Graduate Students of B.E. Sixth semester
electronics had visited to SMV Beverages Pvt. Ltd at
Nagpur on date 08th March 2014. The main aim of
this visit is to provide students a glimpse of the
actual work situation, to understand the industry
environment, to study the production of product
manufactured, to get a first hand information about
the operative system , machines and procedure
adopted by industries in practice and to gain some
work experience. They had provided necessary
information to student about the procedure of pepsi
product manufacturing & refilling and the visit has
successfully done. Visit is organized by Department
of Electronics Engineering, GHRCE, Nagpur. Prof.
S.V.Bhalerao and Prof. W.V.Patil accompany to the
students in the visit.

The department of Mechanical Engineering
of G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has
organized Industrial Visit to “Dagoba Engineering
Works, Shashtri Nagar, Nagpur”, for students of
sixth semester B.E. Maechanical sec.-A , on 25th
Jan, 2014.
Mr. Vishwas Mahadure , officials of
production department of Dagoba Engineering
Works, Shashtri Nagar given brief information
about the overall functioning of various departments
including Cuting, press fitting, balancing of
Flywheel, machining department, welding and
Manufacturing process of Threshers and Pulverizers
& Safety practices performed in plant. The
company’s main products are Multicrop Thresher,
Agro Pulverizer, paddy Thresher, Kandap Machine
etc.
Overall 68 students along with three faculty
members Prof.S. S. Kumbhalkar, Prof. N. P. Awate
and Prof. L. P. Raut, visited the industry for studying
the practical application of the subject.

The department of Mechanical Engineering
of G.H.Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has
organized Industrial Visit to G. G. & Company
Near Gandhi Sagar Lake, Gandhibagh Nagpur
for students of Fourth semester section-C, on 21 th
Dec, 2013.
Mr. chandak has given brief information
about various departments and machines. Total 67
students from IV-C semester Mechanical
Engineering along with two faculty members Prof.
V. P. Kalbande (Class Incharge IV-C semester), and
Prof. K. S. Rambhad visited the industry.

Industrial Visit to “M.M. Boring Works,
Gandi Sagar, Nagpur” organized by
Mech. Engg. Dept., GHRCE, Nagpur
The Department of Mechanical Engineering
of G. H. Raisoni College of Engineering Nagpur has
organized Industrial Visit at M.M. Boring Works,
Gandi Sagar, Nagpur for semester VIII-A & VIII-B
on 08/02/2014.
Mr. Sharma, Plant Head helped us for
organizing this industrial visit & has given brief
information about the company. M.M. Boring
Works, is a part of industries. Basically M.M.
Boring Works, automobile reconditioning industry
in which reconditioning of cylinder block, cylinder
head, crankshaft, camshaft, connecting rod, inlet and
exhaust valve seat is done.
The student of semester VIII-A & VIII-B
along with Prof. K. S. Rambhad, Prof. A. P. More
and Prof. A. S. Chaudhary visted the company at
11.00 AM. Mr. Sharma has introduced the company
at the start and given the brief information about the
various operations carried out at company. Then the
students entered into shop floor with Mr. Patil.
There were 5 Lathe, 5 Crankshaft grinding, 4
Vertical boring, 2 honning machine, 2 main line
boring machine, etc.
After visiting shop-floor the students
discussed the various topics for their project with
Mr. Vaidya who is one of the supervisor of company
and the faculty members. Mr. Vaidya has suggested
the various areas like Machining, Material handling,
fixture design and Quality control to students in
which they can do the project.
