Next-Generation Drill PlatformThe LF™120A introduces a new approach to surface exploration drills. Featuring ourcompletely hands-free rod management system and CANBUS technology for self-monitoring and efcient rig operations, the LF™120A is set to become the standardfor fully-automated exploration drilling.

Rod ManagementThe Boart Longyear LF™120A surface coring rig features the safest and most ex-ible rod management system in its class, including the industry’s rst truly hands-freerod handling system* which consists of the rod handler, an auto-adjusting break-outtool and an innovative hoist plug spinner. Easily managing both 3 m and 6 m rods insizes ranging from BQ™ to PQ™, the new system delivers safe and reliable long-termoperation.

Operating SystemThe new operating system tracks rig performance down to the bit. This informationallows drillers to quickly establish optimal parameters for any site condition. Theoperating system’s main benet is to prevent unexpected events which cause down-time, so drillers can continue to operate at maximum efciency. Self-diagnosis, remotedial-up support and maintenance tracking further assist the driller in maintainingoptimum performance. All of these issues are critical to a drill’s performance,maximizing uptime and project protability.

The above depth capacities are based on a vertical, straight and clean down hole using actual mea-sured pull-back of 157.2 kN and hoist capacity of 92 kN.

Core breaking strength has been included using rock strength of 15 MPa.

Actual drilling capacity will depend on in-hole tool system used, ground conditions, drilling techniqueand equipment used.
