In these times of globalisation electrical specialists need specifi c technical English more than ever before, be it when reading technical literature, in face-to-face contact or on the phone. This seminar will provide you with essential vocabulary; you will learn how to use it in conversations with foreign colle-agues and how to deal with the intricacies of technical texts. You will learn the necessary basics for dealing with the English language in your daily work, in particular in terms of electrical engineering.

Our trainer will also focus on your particular needs, use practical examples from your everyday professional lives and start where you need English the most. You will learn English in a playful, stress-free atmosphere, in dialogues and team work, utilising your mental and physical resources, spiced with relevant practical examples.

Petra Zillmerhas been a graduate translator and trainer for English since 1983. She has been active for Deutsche Telekom AG, Lenze AG, Lafarge, LMT Fette and others as a language instructor and also works as a translator for technical as well as business English. Moreover, she was the editor of a magazine for technical English and presently takes care of the English page for the ep - Elektropraktiker magazine.

� Installation and maintenance – Cables and electrical lines from the power station to the building – Safety standards, safety signs, circuit breakers – Hazards, accidents and fi rst aid – Troubleshooting, identifying and clearing faults
