1. What is the key problem?
2. What is our POA (plan of action)?
3. What is that the safest plan?
4. What are the biggest risks that we need towatch for?
5. What is your gut feeling about this plan?

COMMUNICATE
1. Each operation must have a clearlydefined leader.
2. A decision on rescue or recoverystrategy must be made clear toeveryone at the outset of everyoperation.

INCIDENT MANAGEMENT
Most technical rescue incidents are focusedaround a small number subjects and can beeasily handled with a simple IncidentCommand System (ICS) structure.
Overall command can be any officer but arescue technician should assume an operationslevel role and manage the technical rescueportion of the incident.
Each discipline has a specific command checklistwith key tactical benchmark.
Use the checklist.

TIPS FOR SAFE AND FASTRESCUE
The Technical Sector Officer has the bigpicture, coordinating and fine tuning allparts of the technical evacuation sector.
Multi tasking with simultaneousperformance of tasks is the goal.
Individual must work as quickly as
possible to accomplish their task, butmust not compromise safety for speed.
TSO must avoid performing hands-ontasks in order to retain overall control of the sector.
