standard Exchange Health Check procedure, performed Exchange infrastructure assessment focusing on severaareas as requested by customer. Reviewed and analyzed early design proposals for the new site-redundant mes-saging design (two sites, Exchange 2003 front-end/back-end topology, clustering, site resiliency, EMC and HDSstorage design and layout, secure access for external clients); provided guidelines and recommendations basedon Microsoft best practices and personal experience.

SQL Server 2000/2005 Analysis and Architecture for Levi Strauss & Co. Together with application/development consultant we assessed existing database services infrastructure (more than 300 databaseshosted by ~15 SQL Server instances for various applications), analyzed application architecture and requirementsconducted detailed performance analysis, provided server design for the new 64-bit (IBM eServer x366) SQLServer 2005 clustered environment with EMC CLARiiON CX700 SAN storage, formulated requirements for bothSQL 2005 and SQL 2000 cluster systems, performed actual installations of both 64-bit and 32-bit SQL Serve2005 clusters.

Active Directory and Exchange consolidat ion for California State Automobile Association (CSAA). After themerger with Western United CSAA needed a consolidation solution. I analyzed and assessed existing directory(Windows 2003) and messaging (Exchange 2003) services infrastructure, provided recommendations and pro-posed high level design options for the consolidated environment.

SQL Server 2000 clustering for Edwards Life Sciences. Installed and configured 64-bit (IBM eServer x460Windows 2003 based SQL Server 2000 active/passive cluster for the mission critical J DE database. Providedteam training on SQL Server clustering. Exchange infrastructure assessment for Wells Fargo Bank. Performed discovery and assessment for Exchange 2000 based messaging infrastructure at Wells Fargo (150,000 users with projected growth to 200,000)Analyzed server and storage configuration (HP ProLiant BL20p blade servers, Hitachi Lightning 9980V SAN stor-age) and conducted performance analysis based on MOM implementation and perfmon logs. Identified configuration issues, risk factors, and proposed remediation steps and design recommendations for the new Exchange2003 based environment. Created an executive presentation and detailed assessment and recommendationsdocument.
