Now a days firms are continuing to expand the role of IT within their corporations and demand computers that are able to handle more complex solutions
Present Computers have some physical limits.
To overcome these limitations Futurists proposed two alternatives
(i) Optical Computing
(ii)Quantum Computing

Why Quantum Computing?
Moore’s lawOptical Computing can increase the computation
speed 1000 to 100,000 times faster than 1.2 GHz
processors. But optical computers for complex calculation will be
greater in size than quantum computersHence quantum computing is the solution with
minimum size & processing speed same as optical
computing.

How does Quantum Computing Work?
Quantum computing uses atoms in place of traditional processors.
It uses Qubits , which can represent 0,1 & any value in between them at the same time.
A Quantum two bit can represent any of the numbers 00,01,10 & 11 simultaneously.

Developments More than three decades ago IBM fellow Rolf
landauer, first put the theory of Quantum information.
A decade later, Davi Deutsch & other research fellows proposed the concept of Quantum computing.
Currently, IBM has a 3-bit Quantum computer, while Alamos National Lab announced a 7-bit NMR computer.
IBM research fellows promised that a 10-bit computer will emerge soon.

Conclusion
Hence Quantum Computing will be fast.
Size will be very small.
Processing & Security of the data will be enhanced & will be much better than present day computers.
