A Round Table Discussion

Application of knowledge to the practical aims of human life or to changing and manipulating the human environment.
The use of materials, tools, techniques, and sources of power to make teaching and learning easier or more pleasant and more productive.
Inundative or massive growth of information.
It has become cheaper nowadays.
We are now moving towards a “third wave society”.
Computers, telecommunications and multimedia can be powerful tools for enriching student learning.
But in order for technology to be effective in today's education system, it needs to be intelligently integrated into a rich, meaning-centered curriculum.
Ted M. Kahn, Ph.D. and Linda K. Taber Ullah, M. Ed. (1997)
Design projects often require:
Effective use of multiple intelligences,
Develop students' higher-order thinking and problem solving skills,
Creating a product for use by a real client or user audience, and
Enable diverse forms of collaborative learning in engaging some students whose talents or knowledge are often not recognized in more traditional classroom environments.
Interactive Teaching and Learning Is a two way process wherein the teacher
modifies his or her approach in response to the needs of the student(s). The interactive teacher is keenly aware of the students and their different learning styles.
A process of digital mediation between the teacher and the student. Is also a two way process but the student may be interacting with the teacher, with peers, with resources or with all three.

Digital Interactive Learning Material
Digital and web-based resources that are small,
self contained and can be used and re-used to support and enhance learning by students in
the university.

Vodcasts
(sometimes shortened to vodcast or less commonly vidcast) is a term used for the online delivery of video on demand video clipcontent via Atom or RSS enclosures.
The term is an evolution specialized for video, coming from the generally audio-based podcast and referring to the distribution of video where the RSS feed is used as a non-linear TV channel to which consumers can subscribe using a PC, TV, set-top box, media center or mobile multimedia device.

Internet
Is a complex repository containing a huge
maze of information from a variety of sources. It has become a prominent
source of information for many people
worldwide.
Muthu Kumar (2004)
Internet can be viewed as providing thefollowing three basic types of tools in theeducational domain:
Tools for inquiry Tools for communication Tools for construction
Bruce and Levin (1997)
This is pure simple optimism, or your ability
to look at the brighter side of life and to maintain a positive attitude, even in the
face of adversity...
Dr. Dups (2009)

Internet facilitates finding sources of information appropriate to a task, working to understand the information resources and how they relate to the task, and if possible applying this understanding in a productive way.
Is a remarkable tool for rapid communication. Can be both synchronous and asynchronous
and takes on many forms such as e-mail, mailing lists, newsgroups, chat and videoconferencing.
Such interaction involves communication with students and professionals in distant places, cultures and traditions as well as facilitating teachers to be in touch with other teachers.
Promotes learning by scaffolding varieties of authentic learning activities for students.
Through these activities the Internet also supports the development of students' higher-order thinking skills.
Demonstration of conceptual understanding by constructing products such as web pages.
In these activities learners regulate their
individual learning progress according to their own experiences and expertise.
Learners can access a wealth of resources at their own pace and have meaningful interactions with the content information.
For instructional activities, the Internet
also has the added advantage of being adaptable for both individual and cooperative learning.
