Purpose and aims of the course.– To enable students to express original

– Particular reference will be made to the impact of developing information and communication technologies on the role of the information professional, and his/her need to become a lifelong learner.



One module:The electronic and digital

environment The aim of this module is to give you an

understanding of the developing electronic and digital context within which the information professional operates. It will examine the technologies and their characteristics, and the impact they are having on the storage, retrieval and use of information and on the communication process. You will be encouraged to compare theory and practice, by reflecting on your own experience in the light of developing theories. You will write a report based on the sector of your choice.
