1.Introducció

L’objectiu principal d’aquest projecte en l’àrea de Tecnologia és iniciar a l’alumne en el

coneixement i ús del vocabulari i expressions bàsiques de l’anglès tècnic.

El projecte es desenvolupa en els dos grups de 2n d'ESO, i té una càrrega lectiva d’una

hora setmanal, durant el primer trimestre del curs 2006/2007. Aquestes hores lectives es

desenvolupen en l'aula-taller, aprofitant que els grups es desdoblen amb Ciències

Naturals. Es reserven aquestes hores ja que el treball pràctic és especialment apropiat

per a posar en pràctica les habilitats comunicatives.

2.Continguts

S’inclouen alguns dels següents continguts específics:

• Vocabulari i expressions d’anglès tècnic que sorgeixen de l’ús habitual de l’anglès a

classe, especialment vocabulari tècnic específic referent als següents camps:

− Rules in a workshop

− Health and safety points

− Tools and machines

− Materials

− Textiles

− Manual operations

• Continguts gramaticals:

− "to be", "to have"

− This/ These

− Prepositions

− Wh- questions

− Verb Tenses: Present

simple,continuous...

− Modal verbs: can, must...

− Predictions about the future: will



3. Metodologia i activitats d’ensenyament aprenentatge

A l’aula taller s’utilitza una metodologia activa i participativa. S’utilitza l’anglès com

instrument de comunicació. El català s’utilitza només a nivell oral, per fer aclariments a

nivell individual o de grup.

Es segueix la metodologia pròpia de l’àrea de tecnologia, amb algunes singularitats:

• Es motiva a l’alumne perquè s’expressi en anglès sempre que pugui.

• S’introdueixen els conceptes i el vocabulari específic d’anglès que es tracten en

cada bloc temàtic en format paper o a la pissarra.

• S’entrega als alumnes un dossier amb un seguit d’activitats i vocabulari que es

treballen a classe.

Aquest dossier diferencia cinc blocs temàtics:

- The Workshop: on es presenten les normes que s’han de seguir a l’aula taller.

- Health and Safety Points: on s’inclouen les senyals de seguretat i els equips de

protecció individual.

- Tools: llistat de les eines que més s’utilitzen al taller.

- Textiles: on es presenta un breu vocabulari relacionat amb els teixits.

- Design process : esquema que se seguirà per a la realització de la memòria

corresponent a la construcció d’un teler.

Altres activitats d’ensenyament aprenentatge són els jocs de memòria on els alumnes

han de relacionar targetes amb dibuixos, noms, traduccions..., així mentre juguen

repassen i comproven tots els seus coneixements.

Algunes d’aquestes activitats són:

- Translate: relacionar vocabulari en anglès amb la seva traducció.

- What’s that? : relacionar una imatge amb la paraula corresponent.

(Vegeu Imatge 5, Pàgina 10)

- Make a sentence : construir frases senzilles i relacionar-les amb l’eina

corresponent. (Vegeu Imatge 6, Pàgina 10)

- I have a ....... who has a .....? : joc de pregunta resposta per treballar amb les

eines.

- Decorating our workshop : els alumnes elaboren, en petits grups, diferents

murals en anglès que es pengen a les parets del taller. (Vegeu imatges 1,2 i 3,

Pàgines 8 i 9)

Durant les ultimes sessions del trimestre es fa la construcció d’un teler. Els alumnes han

d’elaborar una memòria del projecte “Design and make a loom”, com a solució d’un

problema plantejat, en anglès, i basant-se en el guió que se’ls hi proporciona al dossier.

Degut a la dificultat que els hi suposa fer un treball d’aquestes característiques en una

llengua que no és la seva, es va treballar molt a classe cadascun dels apartats d’aquesta

memòria.

Totes les activitats realitzades han tingut com a objectiu principal proporcionar a

l’alumnat les oportunitats necessàries per a posar en pràctica els nous coneixements de

manera que pugui comprovar la utilitat del que ha après i consolidar-ho.



4. Avaluació

No s’avalua a les alumnes i els alumnes d’anglès, ja que és funció del professorat de

l’àrea de llengües estrangeres, però, juntament amb l’avaluació pròpia de l’àrea de

tecnologia es valoren algunes de les següents capacitats:

• Fer oracions senzilles incorporant el nou vocabulari i expressions tècniques apreses.

• Extreure la informació principal de missatges orals senzills produïts en situacions

quotidianes .

• Participar en converses breus.

• Perseverar en els intents de comprendre i fer-se comprendre en situacions

comunicatives.

• També es valora el treball i l’interès de l’alumne cap a l’àrea i la seva capacitat de

treballar en grup.

Procediments d’avaluació:

Es tenen en compte el treball constant i sistemàtic de les alumnes i els alumnes, i també

proves objectives, com els exercicis i activitats fets a classe, la presentació completa i

acurada dels dossier i la memòria corresponent al projecte realitzat en aquest trimestre:

“ Design and make a Loom”.



5.Valoració

Els alumnes amb dificultats per expressar-se en anglès ho intenten, però és freqüent que

s’expressin en català. Pel que fa als alumnes amb bons resultats en l’àrea de llengües

estrangeres, s’expressen en anglès, mostren una actitud molt positiva i col·laboren amb

els companys per tal d’ajudar-los en la comprensió i realització de les diferents

activitats.

En tot procés tecnològic hi ha una fase final d’avaluació. Així, aprofitant aquesta fase

del procés, els alumnes van afegir a la memòria “ Design and make a Loom” un apartat

de valoració personal, per tal de manifestar la seva opinió respecte a la utilització de la

llengua anglesa a l’aula de Tecnologia.

En general els alumnes valoren positivament el fet de poder parlar en anglès fora de

l’aula ordinària ja que és un entorn més relaxat i d’aquesta manera disminueix la seva

por al fracàs, a equivocar-se. Tot i això, alguns alumnes assenyalen les dificultats de

comprensió que els hi suposa.

Hello!! I am your classmate Tecny, I will tell you some rules which are very important to use accurately the workshop.

o You have to use the same desk during the year.

o Your desk must be covered by a PVC canvas when you use a machine or a tool!!

o Always listen carefully to the teacher and follow instructions. Ask questions, especially if you do not fully understand.

o Health and Safety in a workshop is very important. Keep in mind the general safety points

o Do not use a machine if you have not been shown how to operate it safely by the teacher.

Wrench A wrench is a tool that turns nuts or bolts.

Chisel A chisel is a tool used to carve wood, marble, or other materials.

Drill A drill makes holes in things.

File A file is used to smooth things.

Sandpaper It is used to remove small amounts of material from surfaces

Hammer A hammer is good for pounding nails into wood.

Screwdriver A screwdriver is a tool that is used to put in and remove screws.

Screw A screw is a threaded metal fastener that has a slotted head.

Tools help us do work and make things.

Level A level is a tool that checks if both sides of something are at the same height.

Nail A nail is a long, thin piece of metal that you can hammer into wood.

Nut A nut is a piece of metal that fastens onto a bolt or screw.

Pliers Pliers are tools that hold things.

Saw A saw is a tool that cuts things.

Scissors Scissors are used for cutting things, like paper.

FABRIC: A woven or knitted material/cloth (teixit) WEAVE: Any pattern or method of weaving; to make on a loom by lacing together threads going lengthwise with threads going crosswise (teixir) THREAD: A thin fine cord formed by spinning and twisting short fibres into a continuous strand ( fil ) FIBRE: A slender and long natural or synthetic unit of material (like wool, cotton, glass, or rayon) usually able to be spun into yarn (fibra)

How are Textiles made?

Textile designers need to have a good knowledge of different fibres and fabrics and how they are constructed. Fabric is made from fibres, which are fine hair like structures. Fibres are either short or long. See if you can match the fibre to its source by using lines to join them correctly. Nylon is done for you.
