Strategic Communications Quarterly Overview – 11-15-16 Media Relations:
Executive Interviews- Locally, TAG initiated more than 150 media interviews and appearances for
TAG Member companies and their C-level executives in 2016. We are ending the year with a flurry
of Executive interviews for outgoing TAG CEO, Tino Mantella for a total of 6 TV and radio interviews
with most occurring in October-November. CEO also received press in Georgia Trend, The Green
Sheet (a FinTech Publication) and is scheduled to appear Crain’s Atlanta Newsletter.
Press Events- After the successful inaugural Tic Tec Kno event, TAG’s Georgia Awareness Task Force
and Hub Media are beginning plans for Tic Tec Kno 2017. Tic Tec Kno is a mixer for Tech Marketers
and the media that covers the sector. The highlight of the event is a “Hollywood Squares” type
game made up of local media and marketing professional who compete in front of a studio
audience.
Member Engagement Comms- 2016 marks the first year of our BOD Engagement YouTube series.
TAG ALONG is a series of video shorts that invites viewers to "TAG along" with select BOD members
as they present their favorite tech innovation or initiative and share how it impacts their personal
lives. A total of four TAG BOD members have been featured in the shorts in 2016.
Media Impressions- TAG is on track to meet its goal of but fell just below its record breaking 1
billion media impressions in 2013 and 2014. Coverage was comprised of local, regional and national
media including print, broadcast and digital media outlets. Media impressions are based on media
outlet's circulation numbers, listenership, viewership, audience, or number of subscribers or
members.
Media Properties
Hub is TAG’s multimedia brand encompassing the web and print/digital publications. TAG has successfully
expanded the line of Hub Media properties with beta launches of two email newsletter products:
HubWorthy-A twice weekly recap of the top news stories posted on Hubga.com
Bytes- A weekly look at the news and trends at the intersection of Food, Hospitality and Technology
Both email newsletters have proven to be successful enough for an expanded launch in 2017.
The TAG Comms Team has once again secured the Georgia Department of Labor as the printing partner for
Hub Magazine in 2017. This will reduce our production costs while continuing our ability to reach more
people with hard copies.
The last issue which was released early last month (October) focused on the state’s Digital Media and
Entertainment Tech Sector. Ad sales for the issue was just below last issue with more than (4) paying
sponsors including Arketi, Comcast, Cobb Galleria Center, and Clark Atlanta University. Hub reaches a
combined 35,000 TAG Members (electronically) and an additional 17,000 people with the digital version of
the magazine achieving an average 7,000 monthly views last year.
