2007 and the inaugural event in 2006. Since then the awards have been recognized as one of the most prominent corporate

The Technology Business Review Awards 2006 was held on the 15th

September 2006 at the Palace of the Golden Horses. The awards were won by 30 companies from among

48 nominations that came from 12 business sectors. Two Lifetime

Achievement Awards were also given to very prominent corporate figures, Tan Sri Teh Hong Piow, Executive

Chairman and Founder of Public Bank Berhad and Tan Sri Lim Kok Wing,

President/Founder of the Limkokwing University of Creative Technology.

The inaugural awards ceremony was attended by 800 guests consisting of corporate and government leaders.

The Guest of Honour was the Minister of Science,

Technology and Innovation.

Following the success of the inaugural awards, the Technology Business Review ASEAN Awards 2007 expanded the scope of nominees participating in the awards to include Malaysian and foreign companies operating in the ASEAN region, and the

Technology Business Review Merit Awards given in recognition for government agencies for improving their service quality and being a greater partner

to the corporate sector. A total of 33 business from 14 business sectors won the Technology Business Review ASEAN Awards 2007, 7

government agencies received the Technology Business Review Merit Awards and 3 prominent individuals from the corporate sector received the Lifetime Achievement Awards – Tan Sri Rainer Althoff, the CEO/ President of SIEMENS

Malaysia, Tan Sri Jeffrey Cheah, the Chairman and Founder of the Sunway group and Tan Sri Vincent Tan,

the Chairman and Founder of the Berjaya Group.

In the second year of its establishment, Technology

Business Review ASEAN Awards was attended by 1000 guests

which was a record number for a corporate event held in Malaysia. Among the guests were CEOs of

Malaysia’s leading MNCs, GLCs, and PLCs, director-

generals of trade-related government agencies and more

than 50 ambassadors. The guest of honour for the

evening was the Chief Secretary to the Government of Malaysia.

Technology Business Review ASEAN 2008 was an even bigger success, following the success of the previous two award

ceremonies. We introduced 1 more category – the CEO Awards, bringing it to a total of 4

categories – the Corporate Award, the CEO Award, the Merit Award and the

Lifetime Achievement Award.

The event drew more than 90 nominations in total for all 4 categories. And in the end, 50 finalists were chosen from these nominees. The awards ceremony was the grandest to date, with more than 1300 guests it at the

Putrajaya International Convention Centre in the Federal Administrative Capital City of

Putrajaya on the 31st October 2008.
