DESCRIPTION
In this workshop you will be given information for finding websites in helping students with special needs. Most of these are programs or websites that are FREE on the Internet. Other topics to be discussed will be learning styles, socialization, learning disabilities, accessibility, modifications and accommodations for students mostly in the resource room and some for the self-contained room. Interactive games on basic skills will also be presented.TRANSCRIPT

Objectives:Upon completion of the session participants will:
•Determine the learning style of the participant/example students.•Locate activities and resources based on their students’ functional level meeting current curriculum and technology standards.•Prepare a lesson plan for successful integration of technology into their curriculum frameworks.•Research some specific disabilities of students in your classroom.•Create a list of websites that can be used in their classroom. •Share project and discuss the use of technology in the resource room.

If you don’t know, here is how:
To save your favorites to the desktop: right click on the web page to save(clicking in a cleared space works best) left click create shortcut choose OK to save current page to the desktop To create a folder on the desktop: right click on desktop(clicking in a cleared space works best) left click New left click Folder type in name of folder To rename a folder: right click on folder left click rename type in new name of folder Left click, hold down and drag the shortcut to the correct folder. You can have as many
folders as you need and also create sub folders within other folders for more specific organization.
To save web pages to a document to email: highlight address of web page to be saved right click on highlighted area left click copy on word document, right click for menu left click paste press enter, address should be blue and/or underlined
