With a whole production of about 90.000 ton/year of welded and tested pipes, with certified and established quality, Tecnotubi has become an estimated and requested partner by the major European Companies.

Zinchitalia is provided with high technology automatic plants, able to galvanize round, square and rectangular pipes from 4 m up to 8,50 m. The pipes can be used for water and gas pipelines, greenhouses, fire - fighting equipment, road signs, wells, sonic tests, API oil pipelines, mechanical and hydraulic equipments.

Alessio Tubi plant is on a total area of 370.000 m2, 108.000 of which are covered. The new welding lines produce square, rectangular and round pipes, black, pickled and sendzimir, from diameter 21,3 mm. to 508 mm. with a thickness of 1,5 to 12,5 mm.

Antares sells steel seamless pipes, black and galvanized. The commercial and selling policy gives particular attention to service and flexibility towards the customer.

Tecnotubi has a 190,000 sq.m. area, whose 55,000 sq.m. are covered. The production reaches 90,000 ton/year equally divided between national and foreign markets. Tecnotubi is present in all the countries of the European Community and the trade is managed directly from the headquarter.

The quality of the product is a primary target of the strategic policy of Tecnotubi. In the last years Tecnotubi has invested in the organization, in the training of the staff, in a new system for the computer verification, in state-of-the-art technologies for the facilities in order to carry out this target. The quality is guaranteed by a system based on UNI EN ISO 9001/2000.

THE QUALITY SYSTEM IN TECNOTUBI

The word quality is a wide and unifying concept, which includes everything concerning the target of “excellence” towards which the company has to aim. Tecnotubi SpA, whose work is based on these two essential principles, achieved the prestigious certification target for the Company Quality System according to UNI EN ISO 9001/2008 by DET NORSKE VERITAS.

This recognition is added to the other certificates:

• Producer’s qualification certificate according to AD2000 WO – AD2000 HP100R TRD100, issued by TÜV BAYERN (MP4/6211-II dated 09.06.92 – 2018414 dated 20.06.2013);

• Producer’s certificate according to EN10219-1-2 directive 89/106/EEC issued by TÜV BAYERN (0036 CPD-11-2007) CE Certificate.

To undertake the way of the quality required great investments, from the industrial point of view and as for the organization and the equipments concerns.Our Company engages to carry out and improve this target, in order to guarantee a high quality product.

THE VERIFICATION OF QUALITY IN TECNOTUBI

In the last years Tecnotubi has invested in the organization, in the training of the staff, in a new system for the computer verification, in state-of-the-art technologies for the facilities in order to carry out this target.The quality is guaranteed by a system based on UNI EN ISO 9001/2008.The manual of the quality proves, by fixed procedures, every single stage concerning the grading of the raw material, the production, the verification on the line and the final tests. An informative system assembles and works out the data relevant to the quality parameters that determine the quality, giving in this way a continuous and precise monitoring of the production standard. A valid recognition for this policy comes from the certification of our company by TÜV for the production according several German standards. This shows the great engagement of Tecnotubi aiming at the achievement of the total quality in order to guarantee with continuity a product in conformity with the standards and with the required specifications..

The welding process is the high-frequency inductive method: up-to-date welding facilities guarantee a very good welding quality for the whole production. A modern system of inductive normalizing grants a complete heat-treatment of the welding from diam.114,3 and for the whole range of thicknesses. The non-destructive tests, eddy current and ultrasonic test, and the hydraulic test, assure a precise verification of the welding integrity. The technological tests carried out by our lab on all the incoming material and on the finished products guarantee the absolute conformity to the standards.

• Non-destructive test on 100% of the production.

• Hydraulic test: for diameter from 51 mm.

• Ultrasonic test: for diameter from 88,9 mm.

• Visual and dimensional inspection on the line.

The raw material is bought from the greater still mills according to the standard EN 10025/EN 10028. Here you find a summary of specifications for boiler pipes according to EN 10025.

THE RAW MATERIAL

Seam Weld:

• for diameter < than 42,4 mm the pipes are only externally fin cut;

• for diameter ≥ than 42,4 mm the pipes are both internally and externally fin cut.

Surface:

• The pipes can be supplied black, galvanized and oiled.

FINISHIS

The pipes are produced according to EN 10025/EN 10028.Other steel grades can be supplied on request.

QUALITY• Commercial length: 6.000/12.000 mm with tolerance -0/+50 mm.

• Fix length: from mm 1.000 up to mm 14.000.

• Tolerances: -0/+50 mm, -0/+10 mm, -0/+5 mm, -0/+2 mm.

Particular lengths and narrower tolerances can be supplied on request.

It is also possible to provide the customer with authorization to be present at the tests. The control instruments are kept calibrated according to a regular verification programme. So as to be able to precisely asses the material characteristics and thereby guarantee product quality

THE VERIFICATION OF QUALITY IN ALESSIO TUBI

The quality of the products improves with the refinement of the construction technology. Alessio Tubi products meet the required quality levels thanks to process monitoring and product checking. All the checks are undertaken in the Alessio Tubi factory.

The factory is equipped for carrying out the following:

• Testing on traction, resilience, countersinking chemical analysis, strain levels and welding checks.

• Non-destructive checks with penetrating liquids and magnetic crack detector.

• Dimensional, metallographic and micrographic checks.

Zinchitalia Spa is located in a strategic position in Brescia district, in the centre of Lombardia. The processes of galvanization, marking, cutting, threading and coupling, are developed in a new covered area of 20.000 square meters, nearby Tecnotubi. Zinchitalia has bought longtime ago the company Tubimar, a European leader for the production of welded water/gas pipes, structural and line pipes, both black and galvanized.Zinchitalia supplies Fretz-moon, welded pipes, threaded and cut according to requests, black or galvanized, marked according to Standards EN 10255, EN10216, EN10219, API5L, ASTM A 106, EN 10240 (galvanizing). The pipes can be used for gas and water pipelines, greenhouses, fire – fighting, road signs, wells, sonic tests, API oil pipelines, mechanical and hydraulic equipments, heat exchangers etc.Zinchitalia is also provided with high technology automatized systems, able to galvanize round, square and rectangular pipes, from 4 mt up to 8,50 mt.

Galvanizing

Zinchitalia supplies pipes according to Standards EN 10240 and ASTM A53.Our working range includes round pipes from 3/8” (17,2 mm) to 6” (168,3 mm) and construction pipes from 20 x 20 up to 120 x 120 in lengths up to 8,50 mt.The hot –dip galvanizing process is automatically operated by a new plant of 10 ton/h capacity that consists in the following operations:

Tecnocoat

The products coated at the Alfianello plant using the TECNOCOAT method are most used in the installation of fire-fighting systems, civil and industrial engineering plants and natural gas distribution networks. They come in the size range DN 15 to DN 250.TECNOCOAT coated steel pipes feature excellent temperature resistance, high mechanical properties and an impeccable defect-free appearance. Coating can be applied on welded pipes, which are produced by TECNOTUBI and/or ALESSIO TUBI, companies belonging to the Amenduni Tubi Acciaio Group, and on weldless pipes.

Coating with epoxy powders:Production cycle

• Visual inspection of the steel pipe surface• Cleaning of the surface of the pipe by means of steel grit blasting• Automatic pipe loading and feeding• Pipe pre-heating at 200°C, using an induction generator• Application of epoxy powders with electrostatic guns, average coat thickness 70-90 microns• Pipe cooling using continuous jets of water• Pipe marking• Checking the thickness and adhesion of the coat on the pipe• Packaging in bundles (hexagonal) using an air-operated strapping machine.

Water-based liquid coating: Production cycle

• Visual inspection of the steel pipe surface• Cleaning of the surface of the pipe by means of steel grit blasting• Automatic pipe loading and feeding• Check of wet coat applied• Transfer to the coat drying and baking furnace• Checking the thickness of the dry coat• Pipe marking• Packaging in bundles (hexagonal) using an air-operated strapping machine

Pipes with grooved ends for connection with Victualic couplings can be supplied on request, subject to minimum quantity orders.

VICTUALIC GROOVED PIPES

Foam for pipes and special parts is made with foamed cyclopenthane, which provides enhanced thermal insulation and reduced dispersion, and hence considerable energy saving.Zinchitalia Spa. makes pre-insulated pipes in accordance with the applicable standards for pre-insulated pipes for district heating – EN 253, EN 448, EN 488 and EN 489.The family of Tecnotherm products ranges from ND 15, with a 90 mm HDPE outer sheath, to ND 500, with a 710 mm or 800 mm HDPE outer sheath, in commercial lengths of 6 and 12 metres.Service pipes can be made of various materials to suit the customer’s requirements – carbon steel, stainless steel, galvanized steel, copper, polyethylene (PE) and polybutylene (PB).The polyurethane foam used (PUR), a high-pressure mix of polyol and isocyanate, provides effective insulation through time and is entirely CFC-free, in compliance with today’s rigorous standards.

The outer protective sheathing is made of HDPE in accordance with EN 253. Another option is galvanised spiral sheet-metal for outdoor applications.Tecnotherm pre-insulated piping is monobloc, a fundamental requirement for correct absorption of thermal dilation, thereby guaranteeing long life for district heating networks.All our pipes and accessories for district heating networks can be supplied with various kinds of alarm system for locating and monitoring problems affecting the network. Nordico or Brandes systems can be used during the production stage.
