Day 3. Sun 17 Nov: Sunrise Shoot - Bird Photography Tour B4.45am: It’s an early start today for our first sunrise shoot. Join our hosts to photograph the sunrise over the ocean, then shoot the sandstone ruins of Kingston in the early morning light before enjoying an on-site breakfast prepared by the locals.2.00pm: This afternoon we board the bus with our hosts to visit some of the prime birding sites on Norfolk Island. We visit the national park and keep our eyes peeled for the red Pacific Robin, the Grey Fantail and (fingers crossed) maybe we will spot the elusive Green Parrot. Later we head to Puppy’s Point in search of Sacred Kingfishers, and watch the Tropic Birds, Masked Boobies and maybe a Frigate Bird or two soaring past the cliffs at the Captain Cook lookout. Afterwards, we return to the resort and enjoy the evening at leisure with plenty of time to look over the photos we took today!Overnight: Paradise Resort & Hotel

Day 4. Mon 18 Nov: Ted’s Cameras Expo - Free time or Optional Tour - Night Shoot BWe enjoy breakfast at the resort this morning.9.00am: After breakfast, join representatives of Ted’s Cameras and their associated trade partners (Canon, Nikon, Sony, CR Kennedy) for a special ‘photography expo.’ Meet Ted’s Cameras experts, check out the latest cameras and accessories and maybe even a few sneak-previews. This is our chance to get a real ‘insiders’ look at the industry…see what’s hot and what is on the way.Free Afternoon or Optional Tour: Join one of our expert hosts on an excursion to St. Barnabas Chapel, where the exposed timbers and stained-glass windows of the interior offer a whole new type of photo opportunity.7.00pm: Tonight join our hosts and others at a night shoot around Kingston. The cemetery and historic buildings are the perfect places for some eerie after-dark work…let our imaginations run wild! We then return to the resort for a well-earned sleep.Overnight: Paradise Resort & Hotel

Day 5. Tue 19 Nov: Sunrise Shoot - Birds in Flight - Drone Photography B5.00am: For those who still have the energy, join one of our expert hosts for a second sunrise shoot at another well-chosen location near Kingston. Once the sun is up we may enjoy an early stroll around the cemetery to photograph the historic gravestones in the morning light. Then enjoy a social ‘breakfast by the sea’ prepared by our local hosts, before returning to our accommodation to freshen up and prepare for the day.9.00am: We head back to Cemetery Bay, this time to take on the challenge of shooting birds in flight. Sea-birds are our constant companions on Norfolk but capturing them ‘on the wing’ is an added challenge. We bring our biggest telephoto (ask our hosts for some help with the settings if required) and take the birds-in-flight challenge. We return to town to purchase lunch (at own cost).1.00pm: Drones are the current ‘big thing’ in photography and historic Kingston is the place to be today! Join experts from Ted’s Cameras and their suppliers; watch as they demonstrate some of the most popular drone technology before we try our hand at shooting Kingston from above.Dinner tonight is at own cost.*Optional: Commandants DinnerOvernight: Paradise Resort & Hotel

Day 6. Wed 20 Nov: 100 Acre Reserve - Free time or Optional Tour BAfter a big day yesterday, today we get to sleep in. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast.9.00am: After breakfast, we join our guides for a visit to 100 Acre Reserve. The majestic fig trees that line the road as we approach the reserve makes this one of the most popular photo-locations on Norfolk Island. After seeing the fig trees, head into the reserve for more massive trees, coastal views and nesting sea-birds. We return to town to purchase lunch (at own cost).Free Afternoon or Optional Tour: This afternoon is free to enjoy any way we like. We can choose to do an optional tour or hire a car to do a bit of exploring or simply hang around town, enjoy a coffee and some leisure time.Dinner tonight is at own cost.Overnight: Paradise Resort & Hotel

Day 7. Thu 21 Nov: Captain Cook - Period Costume Shoot - Portrait Shoot - Island Fish Feast B, M/Tea, D7.00am: This morning take a good look at the Northern end of Norfolk. Departing early, we enjoy breakfast at the popular Captain Cook lookout with stunning cliff-top ocean views. After breakfast, take a walk that leads around the Northern Cliffs and into the forest. This walk has some of the finest scenery on the island and we are likely to see all sorts of bird-life including Frigate Birds, Tropic Birds, Fantails, Pacific Robins and perhaps even the endangered Norfolk Green Parrot. After our walk return to Captain Cook for morning tea with the locals.1.00pm: This afternoon, join one of our expert hosts and the other hosts at Kingston, where some of the locals will be dressed in period costume for a photo shoot with a historical flavour around the historical sites. Norfolk Island has a rich history and this is our chance to celebrate it with some truly memorable photos. We then join our hosts for an interactive portrait photography workshop. With stunning island views for a backdrop, our hosts will guide us through lighting and camera techniques for beautiful portraits, with some of the locals offering to model for us.4.30pm: Our tour is almost over and tonight we celebrate with a glorious Norfolk Island tradition. Enjoy an outdoor fish-fry dinner with local seafood and entertainment, while watching the sun set over Anson Bay. It’s a chance to reminisce over a great week, and maybe share some contact details with many new photography friends.Overnight: Paradise Resort & Hotel
