26 years later, TED has become a nexus for a global community of individuals who believe in the power of Ideas Worth Spreading.
TED onlineTED.com currently has a library of over 600 amazing talks.
The talks are of such high quality that the site has become the platinum standard for innovation in digital storytelling.
These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x=independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.
At a TEDx event TEDTalks videos and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group.
