TEDx Nantwich will take place on Sunday, 29 October 2017 (1-5pm) at Brine Leas High School, Nantwich, Cheshire. Our theme is Life Long Learning and we’re looking for speakers. Who are we looking for? We’re looking for people who have a big idea or a story to tell that’s linked to our event theme ‘Life Long Learning.’ It can be expressed through speech, dance or any variety of performance. The key will be to deliver your message in an engaging, powerful way so that it inspires and educates, challenges thinking and sparks deep discussion. Individuals don’t have to be a professional speaker or performer. In fact, we encourage everyone to apply. To reflect our ‘life long’ theme, we’are hoping for a wide age-range of speakers and performers… anyone from 9 to 99 years old! Ideally we’ll find a speaker or performer to represent each decade. The talk length is 10 minutes max. It should be impactful, engaging and fresh for the audience. There will be support from a speaker coach who will work with you to ensure you are prepared for the big day. How to apply To apply go to the application form online at www.TEDxNantwich.com or call Peter Ewan on 07525 816114 and he will send you a postal application form. The deadline for speaker applications is Tuesday 11 July 2017. Your submission will be reviewed by our Selection Committee, and we’ll be contacting those selected for audition by Tuesday 18 July 2017. All successful applicants should be available to attend auditions in Nantwich on Tues 25 July 2017.

Things to noteWe are committed to enabling you to give the best TEDx talk possible through the support of our team and speaker coach. They will help you craft your talk, edit it down to its essence and perform it with confidence on the day. You’ll then be able to say you’re a TEDx speaker. We’ll edit and send your video in afterwards so that you can be included on the official TEDx website. In return we ask for your full commitment to come to rehearsals, listen to the coach and make the amends they ask for, and practice so you know it backwards (no notes are allowed on the day but you will have a prompt if required). We won’t allow anyone to speak on the day who we don’t think is ready or who doesn’t feel totally comfortable, the TEDx brand is very clear about the level of talk they require! If you have any questions about how to fill in the form or want to talk to someone about your idea please email [email protected]
