It was a struggle at first, as it is never easy to kick years of addiction and a life- style of continuous wrong choices; however, over time Jason began to change. It be- came evident to everyone that Jesus Christ had become a reality to him, and that the Spirit of God was making him into a new creation. Since Jason embraced the discipleship program, he has seen God restore his relation- ships with those he loves, as the Lord has restored trustwor- thiness into his life. His son, his mom and step-dad are all back in his life and he is so thankful. When 31 year-old Jason Vogt arrived at Teen Challenge in early May this year, his life was a train-wreck. Jason was raised in a Christian home, but had trouble staying on the path his parents tried to guide him on. When Jason’s father died about four years ago, his reliance on drugs grew stronger, as he tried to soothe the pain of his loss. Soon he was strung out on pain pills and dope, stealing from friends and family, and break- ing trust with everyone. Jason was discharged from the army for drug use in September of 2010, and eventually lost his house, his car, and all his pos- sessions due to his habits. Though he attended a 30-day rehab program in 2010, as soon as he was out he was back to his old ways, as is the case with most short-term pro- grams. His drug addiction and criminal behavior also led to the loss of every relationship that meant anything to him, as well as serious legal charges, including: three arrests, jail time, probation, and restitution required for crimes committed. His parents gave up on him and his own son didn’t want to A Family Re-United by Son’s Renewal in Teen Challenge Thanks for being a part of the 2011 Annual Teen Challenge Golf Tournament.
