Teen Suicide.• Suicidal behavior is defined as a

preoccupation or act that is focused on causing one's own death voluntarily.

Teen Suicide.

• Suicide is the third leading cause of death in 15 to 24 year olds.

• As many as 12 out of 24 teens have suicidal thoughts.

• Males are four times more likely to die from suicide than females, yet more females will attempt it.

• A few warning signs of suicide are change in eating and sleeping habits, and lose in interesting of usual activities.

• There are as many as eight to 25 attempted suicides to one completed suicide - with the ratio even higher in youth.

Teen Suicide.

• Make sure every teenager knows how serious suicide is, and that if their friends are considering it to tell someone. The advantage would be that maybe that the person considering suicide would get help, the disadvantage would be potentially breaking promises.

• Get help from someone, before it is too late. Advantages, that it might help the person not have the thoughts of suicide. The disadvantages , would be that the help wouldn’t work and it would happen anyway.

• Recognition and early intervention of mental and substance abuse disorders is the most effective way to prevent suicide and suicidal behavior. Advantages are that the specialist can help, disadvantages include not noticing the problem early enough.

that if their friends are considering it to tell someone. In the future to help people that are considering suicide, make sure they have someone to talk to about it and feel like they don’t need to end their life.
