generic words and moments and infuse them with details that guarantee our writing is
individual, honest, and engaging.

A subtle hint of lemon or the stench of a dumpster? Like it or not, our nose is a powerful
connector and writing about smell activates the senses of every reader. Well dabble in the
olfactory and find ways to introduce all the senses into our snapshots.

Ugh. What to do when our moments truly defy description? Similes and metaphors to the
rescue! Well find ways to spice up our snapshots with rich comparisons that click, rather
