What a girl! All the very best is extended to Ellen. Derrick Can Really Throw Derrick travels to Albury this week for the national Athletics Carnival. Derrick is an outstanding athlete and we wish him all the best for a successful carnival. Samaritans Food Drive We will again be involved in the Christmas Food Drive. Any donations can be left under the Christmas Tree in Mr Millburn’s office. Thank you for supporting this worthy cause. Telarah Singers Showcased in the Local Community Our fantastic Telarah Choir will be performing at Rutherford Library on Friday 26th November. Sing well singers. Leaders Voting This Friday This Friday, students in years 1-6 will vote for our 2011 leaders. Good luck to all of our candidates and remember, just being a candidate is a great privilege. Two Great Community Events Next Thursday, Telarah Community will recognise and celebrate our wonderful Aboriginal families with Telarah’s first Welcome to Country BBQ. Invites have gone out already and we hope for a terrific response. Next Friday will see another outstanding community event being held. Our first Carols by Twilight will be run from 5:30pm - 7:30pm. Grade and stage music items will perform, our Aboriginal dancers and didge group will perform and our drumming group will beat the drum. Our wonderful choir will perform, and, by special arrangement, a very talented group of teachers, administration staff and Principal will perform 1-2 numbers for everyone’s entertainment. The P&C will be running a delicious BBQ and a heap of chocolate wheel prizes will be available. We hope this event draws in the Telarah Community and sets the scene for many Carols by Twilight to come. So come along, bring your friends and neighbours and lets make it a fabulous evening. Stewart House Dolphins will be on sale this week in the mornings outside the hall. Stewie’s are $2 each. All proceeds go to Stewart House.

Ellen Is A Top Speller

Ellen travels to Sydney this week to compete in the Pre-

miers Spelling Bee at the State Final. What a girl! All the very

best is extended to Ellen.

Book Club

Tomorrow (Wednesday) is definitely the last day for book club orders. Please put order

and money in an envelope and hand to Mrs Bateup.

Guitar

All payments for Term 4 guitar

lessons need to be handed to Mrs Bateup as soon as

possible.

Thank You Luncheon

Have you volunteered your time to help our school this year? For example, have you

worked in the canteen, sewn costumes for our musical or

listened to children read in the classroom? If the answer is

YES the staff of Telarah Public School would like to invite you to attend a Thank You

Luncheon to be held in our school hall on Thursday 9

December at 11.30am.

We would love you to join us and allow us the opportunity

to show our appreciation for the time and effort you have

g i v e n s o g e n e r o u s l y throughout the year. Please

send your RSVP to the school office.

Student Absences

If you are going on holidays or your child is sick for more than 5 days, an exemption can be

completed. This means that these days absent will not

count on your child’s records. All exemptions should be

completed before leaving for holidays. If your child is sick for more than 5 days, a

Doctors Certificate will need to be attached to the exemption.

Please contact the office for further details.

Bus Changes

Could all parents please note the following bus changes.

These new times will begin on Monday 29 November.

Raffle Tickets

All students should have received their Christmas raffle tickets. All sold raffle tickets

need to be handed to the office. Tickets and money must be

returned by Thursday 2 December. More tickets are

available at the office. Good Luck!

The Salvation Army The Real Meaning of Christmas.

Tuesday 30 November and

Tuesday 7 December at 5.30 - 7.00pm.

Craft, Games, Videos and Activities. All children are

welcome (5-12year olds). There is no cost involved.
