In any organization, there are several groups that rely on information related to the network to complete their tasks. The telecom network data can be useful to every segment of the service provider’s enterprise. However, it is often not easy to derive this inventory information and requires highly technical knowledge of the different inventory systems.

Network information shared with decision makers needs to be specific and relevant information about a given choice. The information can vary from infrastructure, equipment room space, and current-and-future network, to even the markets, demographics, revenue potential, weather, and many more. It is important that they clearly understand the relationships between various sets of information to analyze situations most effectively.

Tieto’s Telecom Network Inventory Transformation (NI) is an integrated information system enabled by accurate and real-time network inventory information at its core. With Telecom Network Inventory Transformation, providers can transform the different network elements (Core, Access & CPE) into a single inventory system including network as well as IT. It supports physical, logical and service inventory as well as outside plant inventory.

• This helps ensure data integrity and synchronization and consolidation of crucial inventory network and network resource

• Re-engineer business processes by interfacing network inventory

• Cleansing of data before migration to ensure data integrity and maintain checks to ‘keep it clean’

• Automation of critical business processes for reduced provisioning and repair cycle-times

• Inventory solutions that bridge the whole lifecycle from enquiry to billing.

Success Story Customer: One of the largest Finnish ICT provider Challenge:

• Transforming the Service Delivery and Service Assurance processes to reduce wastage of resources, integrate platforms and build efficient services around legacy environment without heavily investing in changing of OSS and Network Inventory Platforms.

• Delivery and Assurance were not in sync and created lot of silos for the process.

• Several tools and substantial manpower required for discovery of issues and RCA. The delays and issues in turn had an adverse effect on the key KPIs and Customer Experience Management scores.

How Tieto helped:

• Provided Service Delivery and Assurance Transformation along with Network Inventory Data Consolidation.

• Used the Brownfield Transformation with three-pronged approach; Improve and collaborate Network Inventory data, integrate applications and tools along with legacy tools, and remove duplication and optimize model to provide intelligent analytics.

• Provided data consolidation with GUI and schema-less graph DB.

What Customer Achieved:

• Significant reduction of operational costs with a consolidated Network inventory that would be used by SD and SA processes.

• It enabled the customer to gain high degree of visibility and seamless transformation of fragmented NI databases into consolidated Network Inventory management tool.
