Migration or duplication?Traditionally operators have little choice when deploying new network technologies: existing services can either be migrated to support the new technology or duplicated where a new service platform is run in parallel, one in each network. The CAPEX and OPEX overheads of such approaches have lead Teligent Telecom to develop a new solu-tion based on our patented telecommunications platform (the Teligent P90/E) directly in response to our customer’s needs.
The Teligent Messaging Service Broker is a SIM like application (Service Interaction Manager) which is dedicated to the needs of operators with legacy voicemail plat-forms; the MSB allows the operator to keep their existing service and, in addition, provide the same service offering to newer networks without the need to migrate or duplicate the service platform. The OPEX and CAPEX reduction with this approach is clear; MSB allows a much smoother path with less integration headaches at a greatly reduced investment level.

How does it work?The Teligent Messaging Service Broker sits between your legacy mobile or fixed net-work and you NG Network (IMS, SIP, etc.) providing intelligent translation of signal-ling (to ensure all the features of your VM platform are available no matter the access method). In addition, issues such as MWI (Message Waiting Indication), SMS notifica-tion, HLR presence information, etc. are solved from a single MSB deployment.
In addition to mobile/fixed and IMS/SIP service interaction the MSB is also capable of providing service interaction between fixed and mobile networks. The possibilities for further service offerings based on existing platforms, as well as cross network pre-paid billing interaction, open up a whole new range of possibilities for the operator to build and expand on existing investments.
