NOTE: Turn off flow control on relevant DCE and DTE's, i.e. terminal servers.TEX cards can only route in VC12 OH. The VC12 OH is low BW typically 4800 baud and tied to the VC12.The AC1 ADM has one V.28 interface only. East or West access can be configured in SW.If several hops must be routed a TEX card can provide the second V.28 interface.Alternatively V.11 can be used. Up to 3 V.11 interfaces can be accessed per card.

V.11 provides balanced communication, which is typical in telecommunication. V.28 provides unbalanced communication. V.28 can be converted to V.11 by the use of an RS232 to RS422 converter i.e. 222n9 from Patton Electronics.

OHA2 MODULE CM4054See MA124 pp187The OHA module provides, through two of the 18 STM-n interfaces:

A 64k bit/s User channel.A 576k bit/s User channel.

When using the OHA2 module it is possible to route the User channels between two of the 18 STM-n connections.Routing means that the User channel inputs from one STM-n interface are sent to the User Channel outputs of another STM-n interface via a buffer on the OHA2 module. The OHA2 module handles four STM-n interfaces - the two aggregate interfaces and two selectable tributary interfaces. Two of the four interfaces have User channel access on the OHA AUX panel, the other two interfaces are routed. The OHA module is configured by using the 12 DIP switches located on the card. Via the DIP switches it is possible to locate User channels either in the regenerator or in the multiplexer section of the STM-n SOH. The 576k bit/s user channels are located in DCCm (D4 - D12).

On a Unix host the CASE of file names is significant. Similarly read access to "world" must be granted on the files. The date written in the SCRIPT.ADM/CMC/ATX file does not need to correspond to the actual file date. Line separation can be newline (UNIX) or carriage return and newline (WINDOS). TABLFILE.LMC is a text file specifying ESW module compatibility list. This file is not necessary in order to change the AC1 ADM module only.AC1 N-cards (AD130) does not support download of the LMC fileOn AC1 main and sub type needs to be re-entered if a Flash erase has been done - even if they are correctThe presence of OSI connectivity does by no means imply IP connectivity. I.e. embedded channels will only transport OSI packets. IP connectivity must therefore be ensured in advance. Test by downloading a file without clearing the file system first. LAN interface speed may need to be set. Make sure the image matches the module: BOOT: No 'SYSTEMFILE' for ADMQ in script-file!!! – 0.

SAMPLE PROCEDUREThe following AC1 example will clear Flash memory (the file system) and load new ESW from a TFTP server.The TFTP directory (/usr/tftpboot) contains:-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 1077438 Jan 3 21:39 AD148V19.BIN-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 1075685 Jan 3 21:39 ADQ48V53.BIN-rwxrwxrwx 1 root system 542304 Jan 3 21:39 LMC48V42.BIN

USING TFTP IN IP MODESubsequent to network file load the NE accepts tftp requests. Since tftp does not support remote file listing this means the file name must be known in advance (wildcards are not supported). The following example shows retrieval of the NE database from an AC1:# cd /tmp# touch DATAB.DAT# chmod 666 DATAB.DAT# tftp 130.11.2.125 -get DATAB.DAT -mode binary (where IP address is the NE)
