Telstra Home Concept

Australia’s largest telecommunications company has once again created a new concept that defies traditional retail offerings. A retail concept that replicates the feel of a home environment, somewhat a third space between home and a creative space of technology. Its about connecting the brand to the customer and connecting the customer to future retail experiences.

to createLPA has had an amazing opportunity working with Australia’s largest telecommunications company for several years. We’ve seen gradual design developments to see this new era of Telstra and we are proud to be a part of the journey.

Deign company ACRD took the challenge head on to create this fresh new face Telstra was looking for, “The store of the future”. Telstra’s has a slogan they abide by proud past brilliant future. Their main goal is to simplify and deliver innovation. ACRD’s goal to design a concept where the brand connected with the customer. The new concept store required a rethink of the traditional tech stores by creating a home feel concept.

the design processThe living room, the dining room, the back yard! these spaces are where we engage and utilise socially, for comfort, and to make up our home. All these thigs have been incorporated within the design with the use of various textures, natural colours and finishes, a beautiful green wall and even a mini gable roof structure bringing together the modern on trend Scandinavian home decor look that Australian’s have come to love.

Our collaboration with the design of this new concept is one of pride. Our lighting purpose for this concept was to keep it minimal. A ceiling was to replicate a home with a grid like pattern. The use warm coloured linear led created an easy on the eye halo effect for product focused areas and the ceiling coves giving the illusion of height to the ceiling. The use of shape and scale was important for choosing the simple yet dominant bell pendants. All together the lighting design complemented the store design by creating a space that had impact yet comfortable to the eye and sensory to our everyday living.
