Government policy is that pension payments should be abated where a member is reemployed in the public sector and receives a pen-sion and salary which exceeds their earnings before retirement.

Anyone in the Local Government Pension Scheme is subject to the rules on abatement if they are re-employed and in receipt of a pension.

To undertake all aspects of fire safety and community risk work in the District as directed by the Group Manager Pre-vention and protection and the Station Manager TFS, in accordance with the current policy and guidance.

To undertake fire safety audits and to ensure that the statutory responsibilities of the Fire Authority are complied within the operational boundaries of the post.

To make and file, all necessary reports in order that the Fire Authority’s statutory responsibilities’ as to the keeping of data are met.

To assist in the preparation of statutory notices, assessments or licenses required by any relevant legislation. To assist in the implementation of the requirements of the statutory legislation and give advice to, employers and own-

ers whose premises require fire safety risk assessments under any applicable legislation. To assist in the enforcement of any safety legislation for which the Fire Authority is a responsible authority, and to dis -

charge the Authority’s duties where appropriate as part of any statutory consultations under another Agency’s legisla-tion within statutory or other agreed time limits

To compile reports to the relevant person in control of premises or any statutory authorities, detailing the requirements and/or the recommendations of the fire authority in relation to audits or assessments that have been carried out, in ac -cordance with the Regulatory Reform (fire safety) Order 2005 and any amendments as may occur from time to time.

To support other members of NYFRS staff, by providing appropriate advice and guidance, to them in the discharge of their duties and the workload of the TFS district, commensurate with the role of assistant inspector.
