Temperate Forest Biome
A Temperate Forest is most likely found in eastern United States; southeast Canada; most of Europe; and parts of Japan, China and Australia
Temperate Forests contains a mixture of deciduous and coniferous trees and plants.
There are also many types of different animals such as squirrels, deer, bears and mice.

Symbiotic Relationships
Mutualism Ex. A Fungus provides the plant with an increased ability to absorb nutrients and water and often offers disease resistance to the plant.
Commensalism Ex. Moss or Algae live on the bark of a tree. The tree is unaffected by this and the moss and algae have a place to live.
Parasitism Ex. Beech Drops in Ohio, they have no chlorophyl and live entirely on the sap of the beech tree.
Environmental Damage
A huge problem in the Temperate forest is deforestation.
Deforestation is the loss of forests due to over cutting of trees.
One consequence of deforestation is soil erosion, which results in the loss of protective soil cover.
