Temporary Assistance

Temporary Assistance: Temporary Assistance recipients totaled 512,212 in January 2009, decreasing by 2,170 (-0.4%) from the previous month. Related expenditures totaled $157,051,162 in January 2009, decreasing by approximately $9.7 million (-5.8%) over December 2008.

Food Stamps

Food Stamps: Recipients of Food Stamps numbered 2,211,935 in January 2009, increasing by 37,610 (+1.7 %) over December 2008. Food Stamps expenditures totaled $279,011,955 in January 2009, decreasing by approximately $776,228 (-0.3%) over the previous month.

Supplemental Security Income

Supplemental Security Income: For January 2009, SSI recipients (including Mental Hygiene) totaled 659,345 decreasing by 1,359 (-0.2%) from the previous month. SSI expenditures in January 2009, totaled $364,744,218 increasing by approximately $6.6 million (+1.9%) from December 2008. HEAP Table 25 is revised.
