As one of the major European cultural highlights of 2015, the exhibition at the Fondation Beyeler brings together a largenumber of Gauguin’s masterpieces from leading interna-tional museums and private collections. Gauguin’s trendsettingpictures went on to become icons of modern art, and are regarded as some of the most important cultural treasures in the world. The Kunstmuseum Basel ishome to one of the oldest andmost significant public art collections in the world. In Feb-ruary 2015, the main buildingwill be closing for renovationwork. At the same time, workwill be carried out to connect itto the new extension that is in the process of being built.
