WINE REGION

• The Umbrian region of central Italy is bordered by Tuscany to the west, the Marche to the east, and Lazio to the south. It is the only Italian region which is both landlocked and with no common border with other countries. Umbria is the fourth smallest of Italy’s 20 regions in terms of size and population and produce only one third of the wines of neighbouring Tuscany. Orvieto is the region’s most significant DOC wine accounting for 2/3 of the DOC production.

• Tenimenti Santa Francesca is a new winery

in Orvieto born in 2006 from the experience

of the 26 members and managed by the

Alessandro Lumini and the family and have a

majority stake holding in the business.

CELLARS

• The cellar is a prime example of manufacturing excellence

and environmental sustainability. Equipped with the latest

technology, and it can house 65,000 tons of grapes annually

that include not only the fruit from vines recognised for the

Orvieto appellation but also grapes from the rest of Umbria.

Fermentation takes place in temperature controlled stainless

steel tanks.

• The cellar is also equipped with the latest bottling line

capable of handling 10,000 bottles per hour as well as a

bottling line for bag-in-box and brik wines.

VINEYARDS

• The vineyards are 600 to 800 metres above sea level and are planted with Trebbiano, Grechetto, Malvasia, Pinot Grigio, Drupeggio and Vermentino white grapes and Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo and Barbera red grapes.

• Tenimenti Santa Francesca’s premium range of wines is presented under the” Santa Francesca” label, whereas their commercial range is sold under the “Platino” label or Own customers Brands. 20L bag-in-box, 10L bag-in-box, 3L bag-in-the-box, and 1L brik are available under the “Voci” marque.

• Tenimenti Santa Francesca’s philosophy is to produce good quality, fruit driven, red, white and rose wines at affordable prices.

VINTAGE SUMMARY - 2014

In Italy the harvest should be slightly lower. Bad weather (rainfall) raged in

northern Italy and southern Italy has suffered from drought. Initial estimates

indicate less than 49 million hl (4% less than in 2013. In the central Italy the

harvest was 15% down but with exceptional fruit and excellent quality.
