Getting Started
Step 1:
Go to http://teamtennis.usta.com. This will take you directly to the TennisLink Home page. See Page 3 for more information on the Home Page.

Go to www.centralindiana.usta.com. (Shown in diagram below)

Click on TennisLink along the left side of the screen.

TennisLink Home Page
This is the TennisLink USTA Jr. Team Tennis Home Page. It is important to familiarize yourself
with this screen as you will be using it often. Here are a few of the important options you will
find down the center of the home page.

Along the right side of the home page you can register for a team, become a program coordinator,
become a coach/captain, and login. More information on these sections can be found in this help
guide. Please see the table of contents for specific pages.

Becoming a Program Coordinator
The Program Coordinator or Local League Coordinator is responsible for defining
the characteristics of the league (target audience, rules and regulations, dates/times, format
and fees) as well as securing courts for matches, creating programs, and setting up flights,
teams, and schedules on TennisLink. League Coordinators assist Coaches/Captains with
any issues or concerns.
Step 1: Click on “Become a Program Coordinator” on the TennisLink Homepage.
Step 2: If you have a USTA Number, enter it and click on “Get.” If you do not have a USTA
Number, fill out the required fields to receive a Team Tennis #.
NOTE: The information you have on your USTA membership will appear for you if you use
your USTA Number. If you want different information, DO NOT enter your USTA
Number. To correct personal information please contact USTA member services at
www.memberservices.USTA.com.
Step 3: Once the information has been filled in, choose a password. Using the drop down menu,
select a password hint, fill in your answer, and click “Submit.”
Step 4: You are now signed on as a program coordinator.
To become a Program
Coordinator, enter your USTA #
and click “Get”.
Non-USTA members can fill
in the * fields to receive a
Program Coordinator Team
Tennis #.

Create New Program
Step 1: Log-on to the TennisLink System. Click on “Create New Program” on the right
side of the screen.
Step 2: Enter in Program Name (Remember it must say USTA Jr. Team Tennis somewhere
in the name).
Step 3: Fill in the correct location information and dates for the program. All * items must
be completed.
Step 4: Click on “Allow Online Team Creation” if you want Team Captains to register their
own teams.
Click on “Allow Open Registration” if Coordinator is going to place all players on
teams.
Do not click either box if players are to register after Coordinator has assigned
teams.
Step 5: Enter the coordinators USTA # or Team Tennis # and click “Get.”
Program name must have
USTA Jr. Team Tennis in the

Details & Divisions
Step 1: Enter the Match Criteria (Games won, Sets won, or Individual Matches won).
Step 2: Enter the number of matches to be played at each position as well as the Scoring Format
used for each match. (For example: Male Singles 1 / Scoring Format Total Games)
Step 3: Click whether the fees will be collected locally by the Coordinator or by the TennisLink
System.
Step 4: Click on the boxes that pertain to the included fee.
Step 5: Click on all divisions that will be playing in the league. Next, enter the fee in dollar
amount such as $50.00. (The entered fee should be the amount the program receives
for running JTT. DO NOT include the cost of the uniform or the TennisLink
registration fee. Those will be added to the program fee at check-out. The uniform
fee is $11.50; the TennisLink fee is $3.00 for program fees under $40.00 or 7.5% plus
50 cents for program fees over $40.00 ).
Step 6: Click “Next” when finished.

Type is set to “Jr”.
Use the Singles
and Doubles
option if
matches will
be played by
players of the
opposite sex or

Payee & Organization Information
Step 1: Click on “Search Here” to locate your organization. You will be prompted to enter the
following information: School/Organization Name, State, and Organization Type
(Facility, School, NJTL, CTA).
Step 2: Click “Search”.
Step 3: Click on correct highlighted organization to fill in Organization name and type.
Step 4: Complete Registration Fee Payee Information with name of coordinator, billing
information, and account information only if theTennisLink system will be collecting
the fees online.
Step 5: Click “Next.”
Fill in Payee Information here.

Site Facilities
Step 1: Click on “Search Here” to select one or more sites for your USTA Program.
Step 2: Fill in Facility Name, State, and Zip and click “Find Facilities.” Next, click on correct
facility.
Step 3: If facility is not entered in the TennisLink system, click “Add Facility”, complete the
information, and click “Submit.”
Step 4: If only one facility is being used for play, click “Next”. If additional facilities will be used,
click on “Search Here” to find the facility then click “Next”.

Application Summary
Step 1: Verify and/or correct information then click on “Submit.” Your information will be
sent for review and approval by your District Coordinator. Once program is
approved, you may begin creating flights.
Verify all information is correct.
Please make any necessary
changes to your information
at this time before you hit
“Submit.”

Program Coordinator Menu Options
Here is a list of options as
a Program Coordinator.
Click on “Programs” to locate correct Local
League Program .
Click on the
“Jr” next to
your Program
name to
access
program
information
and to create
team flights.

Program Administration
Click “Modify Program” to make
changes to program information.
Click here to Create New Flight. When
created, flights will appear below. See next
page on how to create flights.

Create a Flight
Step 1: Create Flight Name. The flight name should have the age division within the name.
Step 2: If you have more than one flight in a division, state the age division in the description.
Step 3: Select Division for flight.
Step 4: If needed, make changes to Season and Registration dates.
Step 5: Enter the number of matches to be played at each position and the Scoring Format (such
as 2 of 3 Sets, Total Games won, etc.)
Step 6: Indicate gender of team (mixed or single gender) and winning Match Criteria (Games
won, Sets won, Individual Matches won)
Step 7: Click on “Save.”

Flights Continued
Return to the Program Administration page to view all created flights, add teams to a flight, see
team count per flight, begin scheduling matches per flight, and to view stats and standings.
If the Program Coordinator is going to create teams in a flight, please
go to pages 19-21 of this help guide to view how to create a team
before matches are scheduled.

Scheduler
Step 1: Once flights are entered in the system, click on Scheduler under Administration to
schedule the matches. If several different sites are being used for match play, the
Facility Management option under Administration can be used to help schedule these
matches.

“Program”.

Become a Coach/Captain
A Coach/Captain is responsible for recruiting team members, possibly registering team
members, sharing information with team members (team number, rules & regulations,
schedules, fees, etc.), confirming match dates & times, rescheduling matches in case of
cancellations, setting up team practices, managing logistics of each match (such as line-
ups), and entering scores in TennisLink.
Step 1:
Click on “Become a Coach / Captain.” See the TennisLink Homepage if you have questions about where this is located.
Step 2:
If you have a USTA Number, enter it and click on “Get.” If you do not have a
USTA Number, fill out the required fields to receive a Team Tennis #.
NOTE: The information you have on your USTA membership will appear for you if you use
your USTA Number. If you want different information, DO NOT enter your USTA
Number. To correct personal information please contact USTA member services at
www.memberservices.USTA.com.
Step 3:
Once the information has been filled in, choose a password. Using the drop down menu, select a password hint, fill in your answer, and click “Submit.”
Step 4:
You are now signed on as a coach / captain. The first screen it will take you to is to create a team. See Creating Teams / Team Numbers for more information.

Coach / Captain Menu Options
As a coach / captain, you will have the following menu options:
• Score Entry:
This option allows you to enter a score after a match has been completed or confirm or dispute scores for your team that have already been entered. See Score Entry for more information.
• Teams:
This option will pull up a list of your teams along with other useful information.
• Create New Team:
This option will allow you to create new teams in the program. See Creating Teams/Team Numbers.
• Register Players:
This portion takes you to the registration screen. See Registration for more information.

Creating Teams / Team Numbers
Step 1:
Choose Create New Team under My Options on the home page.
Step 2:
Using the drop down menus, select Midwest Section, Central Indiana District, and the
appropriate area such as Indianapolis or Terre Haute. Click “Go.”
Step 3:
If prompted, click on the word “Youth” next to the specific program for which you would
like to create a team.

to obtain information.
Click on at least one affiliation.
Identify the team uniform color
and indicate shipment address and
contact information.
Coaches/captains can also order
and pay for shirts for themselves
and co-captains (though this may
be done at a later date)
Note: Co-Captain information
must be indicated in order to
purchase shirts for co-captain.

Once all information is
filled out; system takes
you to the standard check
out screen: (Only if shirts
are ordered).
Once processed,
coach/captain has option
to the following areas; go
back to the team home
page or register players.
If the captain chooses the
Register Player link, then
they are brought to the
player registration screen.
System auto populates the
team number to make
things easier. Since
coach/captain is
registering the player, the
uniform size must be
picked out and paid for at
this time.
Note: At anytime, the
captain or the player can
go to player registration
from the Team Tennis
Home Page.
Captains can also link
directly to their teams by
choosing the My Teams
link under My Options.

Registration
Before beginning registration, it is very important to have ALL information for the
players you are registering. You can add additional players later if you need. Once you have
started entering player information,
DO NOT HIT THE BACK BUTTON!
IF YOU HIT THE BACK BUTTON ALL INFORMATION YOU HAVE ENTERED
WILL BE LOST. THERE IS NOW WAY TO RECOVER THIS INFORMATION IF IT IS
LOST...
In order to purchase a USTA membership for a player, please obtain the information
below on your registration sheets:

Step 1:
From the home page, click on “Register for a Team.” See the screen diagram on Registration if you need assistance finding these options.
Step 2:
Enter the team number you wish to assign this player to. If you are entering team numbers manually, be sure you have the correct team number.
Input the Player’s USTA # or Team Tennis ID # in the first box. If the player does not have a USTA Number, click on the words, “Don’t have a number?” See Step 5 (below) for more information.
Step 3:
Input the Player’s USTA # or Team Tennis ID # in the first box. If the player does not have a USTA Number, click on the words, “Don’t have a number?” See Step 5 (below) for more information.
Step 4:
Select a uniform size.
Step 5:
Repeat this process until all players have been entered. If you need more lines, click on “+ Add More Players.”
Step 6:
Once all players have been entered, click on “Submit.”
Step 7:
You may be prompted to select the ethnic group for some players who have been in the system. You can select “Prefer Not to Provide” if you don’t know or don’t want to answer.

Step 8:
Enter the credit card information. Double check the Detail Summary to make sure you
have registered everyone and in the right Division. If any of the information is incorrect,
click on the Back button that is located next to the Submit button.
Step 9:
Once you are sure that all information is correct, Click on the Submit button. The screen
will refresh (this will be your receipt). Be sure to print a copy of this screen and save it
for your records.

Score Entry
Step 1:
Start off by logging in. Once logged on, select “Score Entry” under My Options. See the
Coach / Captain Menu Options section if you need information on the location of My Options.
Step 2:
Enter the match number and click Next. You will see the screen shown below. If this is the
correct match, click Next again. If not, you can click Re-enter to change the match number.
Note: You can print a scorecard here also. If you don’t have the match number, see your
schedule. The match number will be on the far left side of the screen.

Step 3:
Enter the Date of the match.
Step 4:
Using the drop down menus, select the players for each position. Next, enter the score for
each match, select the result of the match, and select the winner.
Step 5:
Click “Next.” A confirmation screen will appear next. Verify the accuracy of the
matches played and the scores. If correct, click on “Finish.” If anything is incorrect,
click on “Re-enter.”
After you click on finish, you will see the same screen.
Note: Depending on the scoring format, if a match goes to a third set (a tiebreaker is played
in lieu of 3rd set), enter the score as 1-0. Otherwise it will say that an invalid score has been
entered.

Stats, Standings & Schedules
Step 1:
From the home page, enter the required information under either:
“Search by Player Name”
“Search by Team Name”
“Search by Team Tennis Number, Team Number, Match Number”
Step 2:
From the Team Summary page, you can click on the Players’ Names to see
individual match statistics. The team standings are listed in the center of the
screen,
with the team match record at the bottom.
Step 3:
Click on Match Schedule to get the selected team’s schedule. Be sure you
have
the correct team selected before you click on Match Schedule. The team
name
will be listed at the top left corner above the Team Summary button.
Note: Team standings criteria are league specific. Please contact CITA if you

My Teams
My Teams is a very easy way to pull up the schedule, stats, and standings for any number
of teams. First, you must set up My Teams:
Step 1:
Open up the team(s) Standings page. (See Stats, Standings, & Schedules Page for help)
Step 2:
Click on Add to My Teams, located near the top, right side of the screen. (See Stats,
Standings, & Schedules Page for help)
Step 3:
Once you have selected all your teams, go to the home page. You will see all your teams
in the middle of the screen. You can click on the team name to get to stats & standings
more quickly and easily.
TennisLink Robo Demos
The TennisLink Robo Demos are animated and offer assistance in several areas
in TennisLink. These may be helpful, however, this help guide is meant to be a
comprehensive tool to assist you with TennisLink USA Team Tennis.
Step 1:
To access the Robo Demos, click where you see “click here” under Welcome
to TennisLink USA Team Tennis.
Step 2:
Once you get to the next screen, the available Robo Demos will be listed in
the center of the screen. After clicking on the one you wish to see, you will
have to maximize your screen for better viewing. The controls to play, fast forward,
rewind, and pause are located at the bottom of the browser window.
