The Tales of Terence’s Tummy

Terence was getting hungry and bored waiting for his mummy and daddy to come home with fruit, seeds and berries for his tea.

Suddenly he had an idea

and he smiled

his cheeky smile.

Terence saw one scuttling beetle far, far below. He called out to the beetle in his squeaky, scratchy voice, “I’m coming to get you beetle.”

“Oh please don’t eat me, Mr Bird,” said the scuttling beetle, “and I’ll bring you a yummy pizza instead.”

“OK,” said Terence with his cheeky smile, and he ate 1 pizza!

“Mmm, yummy!” he giggled.1

Terence saw two tickly spiders far, far below. He called out to the spiders in his squeaky, scratchy voice, “I’m coming to get you spiders.”

“Oh please don’t eat us, Mr Bird,” said the tickly spiders, “and we’ll bring you two scrummy hamburgers instead.”

“OK,” said Terence with his cheeky smile, and he ate 2 hamburgers!!

“Mmm, yummy scrummy!” he giggled.1

Terence saw three slithering snails far, far below. He called out to the snails in his squeaky, scratchy voice, “I’m coming to get you snails.”

“Oh please don’t eat us, Mr Bird,” said the slithering snails, “and we’ll bring you three delicious chocolate cakes instead.”

“OK,” said Terence with his cheeky smile, and he ate 3 chocolate cakes!!!!

“Mmm, yummy, scrummy, delicious!” he giggled.

Terence saw four wriggly caterpillars far, far below. He called out to the caterpillars in his squeaky, scratchy voice, “I’m coming to get you caterpillars.”

“Oh please don’t eat us, Mr Bird,” said the wriggly caterpillars, “and we’ll bring you four scrumptious cookies instead.”

“OK,” said Terence with his cheeky smile, and he ate 4 cookies!!!!

“Mmm, yummy, scrummy, deliciously scrumptious!” he giggled.

Terence saw five fluttering butterflies far, far below. He called out to the butterflies in his squeaky, scratchy voice, “I’m coming to get you butterflies.”

“Oh please don’t eat us, Mr Bird,” said the fluttering butterflies, “and we’ll bring you five mouth-watering ice-creams instead.”

“OK,” said Terence with his cheeky smile, and he ate 5 ice-creams!!!!!

“Mmm, yummy, scrummy, deliciously scrumptiously mouth-watering!” he giggled.

But now Terence was SO FAT that the branch began to

C R A C K !

Terence flapped his wings to try to save himself, but he was just too heavy, and…

P-l-o-p!!!!

Poor Terence landed in the soft, wet mud below.

The scuttling beetle, the tickly spiders, the slithering snails, the wriggling caterpillars and the fluttering butterflies all laughed and laughed.

“From now on I shall only eat delicious fruit, seeds and berries for my tea!” giggled Terence.
